The Villain for the Ant-Man film?

It was revealed about a month ago that the main villain for the Ant-Man movie would be played by Patrick Wilson (Insidious & A-Team). Only question is who he will be playing in the film. Scott Lang who will be played Patrick Rudd never really had an arch nemesis. On the other hand, Hank Pym had a few memorable ones. Atlas who is like an anti version of Giant-Man, Egghead who is Pym's intellectual rival and Whirlwind who hated Pym because Wasp fell in love with Hank rather than him.

Now, obviously having Atlas be the main villain would be counter-productive as well as redundant which only leaves Egghead and Whirlwind. Its possible that Ultron will return for the Ant-Man movie and having Egghead as his human protege would be plausible. Though at the same time, I don't think I could take Patrick Wilson seriously if he played Egghead because the character looks like evil version of Conehead. This really leaves Whirlwind but Whirlwind is more like an underling/ hired muscle material.

I'm sure there are few users who would say Graviton would be the perfect role for Wilson but Graviton has always been the dramatic type and Wilson has been known to play sly and deviant characters. Let me know what u think. Maybe we can start a tally chart or draw up plausible plots for the Ant-Man film.

I think you mean Paul Rudd? Anyway I think the Ant Man will be the Marvel film to most deviate away from the source material so far so it's hard to guess what they will get up to.

That could work since in the Avengers film Clint mentioned to Loki that they were getting most of the equipment from S.H.I.L.E.D enemies so I would assume that with the technology they were getting were coming from A.I.M.

I have to admit this blog has stirred up a lot of humor. I can't stop laughing from ur sarcasm and cynicism. I will admit this movie will be a bit of a stretch for success without some cameos from Iron Man or Nick Fury. At the same time, I don't think marvel would give ant - man the green light unless they knew it wuz going to draw in a crowd and make money. Modok and Klaw were good suggestions but I think those villains will be featured with their original hero/ nemesis

As long as they don't use Egghead..people are going to start looking for Sonic the Hedgehog to pop up

a little bit of both, I assumed there was an evil anteater in ant-mans past, and technically Termite man is an Iron Man villain.

@spideysense44: Before he was called Egghead, didn't they used to called him Dr. Robotnik for Sonic the Hedgehog?

Dr Nemesis who is a evil pym particle using supervillain scientist who used to work for AIM and Stane International. Nemesis stole some of Pym's gear and tried framing him for crimes he committed.

Another choice could be Darren Agonistes Cross the wealthy CEO of Cross Technology Enterprises and the villain from Scott Lang's debut Ant-Man story. Darren Cross cousin is supervillain Crossfire primarily known as a Hawkeye villain Crossfire is a former CIA agent and appeared as the villain in the To Steal An Ant-Man episode of Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Crossfire could work as a henchman for his cousin in the film.

@chamber-music: I like the whole Cross cousins team up especially if Hawkeye teams up with Ant-Man but Dr. Nemesis in my opinion is another redundant choice for a villain like Atlas.

Graviton already made an appearance in an Agents of SHIELD episode, so I doubt they'd use him for the film.

@bob808: u think the reluctant mentor of Scott lang will be a villain. I suppose that can happen since ppm has been known to have multiple personalities: yellow jacket, giant man and ant man plus he does have anger management issues but I think it's going to be an obi wan relationship. Mentor trains rookie, mentor is killed by villain and rookie avenges mentor

Egghead is unlikely since it's mostly about Scott (Booo!)

Ant man Movie huh? COOL! Well I'd Say Whirlwind on that answer. Hell if there making a Movie for Ant-Man, They Need to make a Movie from DC Comics for The flash.

The baddy will be Ultron lol ;)

Anyway, things I will speculate. It will be a stand alone film, it will be close to the comics (as Scott pilgrim was) it will be full of jokes.

(Therefore knowing English humour the big baddy will be Scarlet Beetle I pretty much guarantee it)

@b_tank: a flash movie saga is possible but u would need a team up each time to keep things interesting because just having a guy who can run fast and alter time can get boring. One movie would have green lantern and flash then u would have another movie with superman and the flash and so on.
