The newest A-list superhero: QUICKSILVER!

Well what can you say other than...wow! No one seen this coming.

What lead to the c-lister becoming the most used Hollywood hero? Let's look at it from the beginning.

First off, and this one is just my opinion, DCs failure to use the Flash. I truly believe if DC had a just used the Flash once...just one time Marvel would have never even considered using QS in the MCU. Flash was by far the most used and most popular speedster of them all. DC kinda had the patent on speedsters. But due to the current popularity of the MCU combined with DCs failure to utilize Flash arranged the perfect scenario for Marvel to swoop in and use a character who would have other wise never have been known to any other than a few comic fans.

Second, is the Fox/Marvel controversy. No sooner than Marvel made its announcement of QS in the MCU, BLAMO!! Fox did the exact same thing. You really can't fault em tho. They were afraid to lose a property to Marvel that was also rightfully there's. So whatever. Now we have TWO QSs. Because of this QS is an amazingly unique position. Not even Iron Man or Batman will be used more than QS over the next 10 years. Neither studio is willing to risk losing the property to the other by simply folding hands. For example. After Marvels announcement of QS in A2 Fox jumped at the chance to beat Marvel to the punch shoehorning QS into a spot that was originally intended for another mutant. So what does Marvel do? Beat Fox to the punch by adding a QS cameo to the end of TWS. THIS IS NOT GONNA STOP! Neither studio is gonna set by while the other studio profits off a property both own. Fox has already said QS would play a huge role in X: Apocalypse and I'm sure both studios will continue trying to oneup each other. This is just the beginning. QS will have reoccurring roles into separate universes at THE SAME TIME! Expect to see a lot of QS over the next only God knows how long.

Third. Simple. Everybody loves a speedster. And there's never been a major speedster in a quality film before until now. People will eat this up, both versions.

So I think this is pretty cool. Will be witnessing a hero rising to the ranks of the elite class over the next few years. So...what do you guys think? Excited for the silver speedster? Or maybe...just maybe you feel he won't catch on with the GA.

So a c-lister get a little time in the sun, good for him... for as long as it lasts.

Quicksilver had a pretty cool scenes in Days of Future Past...i was so excited to see him there, and i wasn't disapointed. But i'm not so excited about him being in an Avengers movie, another XMen movie, and a thousand other movies. I mean...i liked him in DoFP, but i don't NEED to see him in other Productions. I would be far more excited about a Flash movie though...

Quicksilver has always been one of my favorite mutants because I feel like I could always relate to him and all (aside from the whole father issues thing) and it's certainly nice to see him becoming more and more popular. But I would not categorize him as an A-list character.....yet

Erm, is all this really necessary?

I think his popularity will deffinately increase and if he becomes likeable in the films I'm sure they'll change the comics to suit.

I'm waiting to see how Avengers 2 portrays him. X-Men DOFP did a well job of representing QS.

QS is still a C-lister, B-lister at best.

Maybe a B lister but not an A lister. I'd say the GotG have have a much larger riser in popularity than QS.

@eyedcyou: I think this will cause more talk. More talk, more popularity. Even if its negative. Either way the Q man is gonna be gettin insane screen time. Just trying to one up each other (Fox/Marvel) im expecting a LOT of QS cameos between major roles.

Dont hassle me to bad for saying this but im expecting a QS solo movie announcment some time in the near future. because either studio wont want to risk the other beating them to it. And what better advertisment for a character than two seperate universes with one of them being the MCU.

It's funny because still, nobody cares about Quicksilver.

He was pretty cool in Days of Future Past. And I think it's great that Marvel is pushing more lesser known characters. But Quicksilver, I could take or leave.

if they use him a lot in both universes people will get tired of him pretty...quick

OP I don't think you know what a A-Lister is if you think Quicksilver is one. There was a recent thread here with definitions for A, B, C, etc Listers. QS doesn't fall under the A-List definition read it and see Pietro is definitely not an A-Lister.

U guys are missing the whole point of the thread. Its not literally saying he's an A-lister now but what he more than likely will be. Can anyone say something intelligent about the read?

Honestly? Quicksilver just has everybody dreaming of what the Flash movie is eventually gonna be like.
