I hate Destiny, i don't know if it is overrated but it was the biggest waste of my time. F U Cryptarch
The most overrated games ever
"Literally" can be used informally to emphasize or express strong feeling. His use was fine.
No. It wasn't fine. It's because of usages just like his that we now have that second definition of literally. I refuse to acknowledge recent dictionary updates that only serve to further ruin the English language. Because now, thanks to him and others who use 'literally' as hyperbole, we don't have a word for the original meaning of literally. Because now literally can mean literally or figuratively. It's bull, and you're weird for pointing that out 7 months later, especially considering someone else had already done it back when I first made the comment (I'll refer you to the previous page), and all the pertinent information regarding the viewpoints on both sides of the issue had been made clear.
Also,
Mass Effect; it's boring.
Assassin's Creed- It used to be one of my favorite franchises, but besides the first couple games' stories and beautiful worlds, I find the gameplay to be pretty bad. The core gameplay is very repetitive and, unfortunately, none of it's fun.
The Last of Us- The gameplay is just average and the story has been done to death by other creators. It's a good game, but so many game critics are using it to try to validate their jobs as game journalists.
Uncharted 3- It was absolutely beautiful, but I hated that Naughty Dog kept taking the control from me. I felt like the game was on rails too much. Plus Nathan Drake, team mates, and my enemies would teleport around the room; the shooting was clunky, the puzzles were overly simplistic, and the enemies were too bullet spongy.

1. Didn't realize that was 7 months ago
2. I responded when I read it; I don't make a habit of reading through entire threads before I post. It's a flaw, sure.
3. Hey, take it up with Miriam, man, I didn't change it but I've done what you did before and had to eat crow in front of a full lecture hall.
4. I tried it and it was tearing jerkingly boring for me.

Red Dead Redemption- It's way too padded with filler, and your character controls like a bad racing game.
The Last of Us- The gameplay is just average and the story has been done to death by other creators. It's a good game, but so many game critics are using it to try to validate their jobs as game journalists.

AC- Agreed 1 million times over
RDR- Agreed to a certain extent. IMO, nothing was wrong that a sequel couldn't fix.
I find most FPS games to be extremely overrated because people tend to rate them up because of the multiplayer segments... which I don't think is something that should factor into it when you consider that nearly all FPS multiplayer is the same thing just with different visuals. And quite often the multiplayer aspect is quite a bit beefed up when compared to an often flimsy or repetitive single player campaign (or series of encounters with chest-high walls).
sorry for old quote, but this is pretty much my thoughts exactly on the subject. Its why I haven't been interested in FPS since I was a teenager.
Like...I think I've bought one or two games in the past 10 years that were shooters, only cause my friends undying recommendations and ending up finding them meh lol.

I can agree with this as well. I think the only FPS I've bought was Far Cry 3. They all seem like the same reskinned thing to me.

I just deleted RDR from the list because it still is a great game! If they just tighten things up, things will be all good!
The Metal Gear games.
Destiny
Minecraft
Dark Souls
The Last Of Us(had a fun time playing it, but gameplay wise it felt like a nerfed Uncharted, great story though).
Witcher 3 ( My god I f***ing hate that game )
Demon Souls ( Dark souls two is legitimately more fun and realistic to me )
Oblivion ( No comment )
Yup. That pretty much covers it. Lol.
I find that when people ever say anything about how the MGS series is overrated find the controls difficult to master and the gameplay too hard to get used to and then don't complete the games. Most people who say this never play the games in length.
Batman Arkham Knight- The batmobile was a pain in the ass to use and probably the worst story out of the arkham series.
Skyrim-Oblivion was better not that skyrim is in anyway short.
This x100, although some people would argue that the best game of the series is Morrowind.
Hearthstone, the RNG fest for casuals.
I made it out of the damn Citadel. I just started Mass Effect 2 and I love it--it's beautiful, shooting and cover both feel great and I love the new characters. I see why people love it, now.
Mass Effect 3 plays even better. It's not as good as Mass Effect 2 overall, but gameplay is definitely the strongest in the 3rd entry in the series.

Halo isn't overrated, it's just absolutely amazing. There's a different. Having said that, Destiny is one of the most recent examples of seriously overrated game. I mean, christ, the marketing tactics are shameful. Activison, or bungie, depending on who you ask, has been trying to squeeze every single penny out of the gamers. Destiny is a complete sham, and yet it managed to make shitloads of money and still has a huge gamer population number.
Mario
Flappy bird
Angry bird
Subway surfer
Street fighter
World of war craft (addicting but overrated)

I don't like COD but with every game I've played that's critically acclaimed, I can't find a reason for it being overrated. Skyrim maybe but other than that they're all amazing.
I know, I'm way to positive for CV.

That won't last. You'll be jaded inside 3 months lol
@sog7dc: Ha, been here for the best part of two years now and I'm still a bright bunny. I don't know how though. Although I do occasionally catch myself twitching at things for no reason. But I'm still overly positive.
