Let's say the earth (616) explodes and no one was able to stop it. What characters are so strong/durable that they are still alive just floating in space.

Don't factor people who wouldn't survive the blast but could easily escape, my real question is durability.

I'd guess:

Hulk

Wolverine

Thor

Rulk

Colossus

Dr. Strange

Maybe magneto

Hmmm... I know I am forgetting some but hey that's the point of the question :p

Deadpool and Wolverine wouldn't survive in space. They would end up freezing and their healing factors wouldn't be able to stop the amount of heat leaving their body.

Do these people have time to prep or does the world just explode? If it's the latter only a few of your choices make sense ( Hulk, Thor, Rulk).

@slimj87d: Wolverine's healing factor has let him live in a glacier six months without being fazed. Cold doesn't bother him.

@wolverine08: space is very different, even in the glaciers you have an atmosphere protecting you. Also, if the planet exploded Wolverine would be sent at very fast speeds away from our solar system, but I recommend you read about vacuums and space.

@slimj87d: I admittedly don't know much about vaccums, but I'll say if X-23 (Inherited same healing factor as Wolverine) can survive in space, so can Wolverine.

A decent amount of people would survive. The only real reason a lot of people didn't is because it was an attack from a celestial, and it needed to further the plot.

@wolverine08: so did darken, but he died from conditions not nearly as bad as the vacuums of space.

I imagine Wolverine would survive the planet exploding but how long can he live while being flung in space at 1000s of mph wouldn't be more than a few hours.

All The Beings On Earth Whom Cannot Die Obviously, And There Are Quite A Few Of Course, But There Are Several Whom Could've Teleported Too The Moon And Even Higher-Dimensions (there are higher-planes of existence) And Within The Omni/Multi/Para-verse, If They Are Able Too Transport Away Ahead Of Time. When has Wolverine ever survived a planet exploding?

It doesn't really matter if he has or not. He's healed from absolutely no matter before, and with the adamantium skeleton covering his bones, that's all he needs.

I meant that he's healed from nothing but a skeleton mate. Lol.

Considering that it's indestructible, has no melting point, and the fact that adamantium has been able to take hits from cosmic entities that can destroy planets themselves, sure it can. Don't see why not.

@wolverine08: He will survive the explosion, sure. But I don't' think he will reform if he's floating far into space. The reason the colds of space or insane is because there is nothing in space, and heat transfers from hot to cold areas. Because there is absolutely nothing in space, and it is close to absolute zero in space, he would be transferring from your body out rapidly to the cosmos.

Regeneration, which is Logan's main source of power, is dependent on chemical reactions and chemistry is actually about about heat transfer (entropy). In space, all the heat will continuously leave his cells and he will not be able to heal or regenerate.

Maybe he would survive and be preserved though, but I don't know, I'll let you be the judge of that since you know a lot about Wolverine.

Every case of adamantium being physically broken has been retconned to the adamantium in question being only secondary, not primary adamantium. Tom Brevoort even once mentioned on his tumblr when answering a question about Nul Hulk breaking an adamantium that if adamantium is broken it can't be primary.

having the earth explode with no survivors is unrealistic in marvel's world since there's multiple characters who could survive such a thing

Hmn, fair points man. Especially about how the regeneration is dependent on chemical reactions which require heat. I think you have a point about him initially surviving, but eventually dying.

Yeah,I'm pretty sure it's all cannon. And the characters are still appearing in comic books since in the current arc Havok is trying and will eventually save the old Earth in some kind of way.
