Daken was pronounced wrong. Daken is Japanese. It's pronounced how it looks [at least to me, who spends most of his day looking at Japanese words]

Daken - Dah-Ken

All the other ones I'm unsure about. I used to pronounce Thanos as "They-nos" but now I pronounce it "Than-ose."

Why? Day-Ken is...wrong from how the Romaji is spelled.

Day-Ken's romaji would be Deiken.

Dah as in...like...how Russians say yes [I think]. Dah-Ken.

I agree.  I'm basing mine on language usage where the character is from.  In many languages Leigh would be pronounced lay.  Since she is British, I assume she pronounces it Lee, since that is the traditional English pronunciation of that spelling.  I believe that spelling is actually Gaelic and has a coughing almost gutteral actual pronunciation, kind of like Lie-hough, but one syllable.  I'm just giving you Gamora how I say it because since she's alien, I have no real frame of reference.

These are just how i pronounce them, not saying this is how they should be pronounced

Daken - Day.ken
Thanos - Than.oes
Heimdall - Hem.doll
Aardwolf - air'd.wolf
Gamora - Gam.or.ra
Aeneas - anius
Chthon - cha.th.on
Dionysus - die.on.isis
Brunnhilde - Bruin.hilda
Geirrodar - Gear.o.dar
Sssthgar - Sith.gar
Kelsey Leigh (Lionheart) - Kelsey Lay
Janet Van Dyne - Janet Van Dine
Zsas - Zass
Colossus - Cole.loss.us
Mxysptlk - Mix.il.plix

I was watching Planet Hulk and Crisis on two earths last night and both annunciated names differently then i thought they were supposed to be.

Caiera - my way (See.are.a) Movie way (Key.ear.a)
Sakaarson -  My way (Sack.are.son) Movie way (Sack.air.sen)

Other one i noticed was that Caiera didnt pronounce the Hulks name (Holku). I know people have rights and preivilages when making a movie there wers just some small things that i thought would have been closer to the book and not taken any less time.

Spectre - my way (Speck.tra) movie way (Specter)

Dah-ken

Thay-nose (which I'm sure is actually pronounced Than-ose, after "thanatos" the greek word)

Hime-dall

Gam-or-ah

Ay-knee-ass

Ch-thon (which, again, I'm sure is really pronounced "Thon" after the real word "chthonic")

Die-oh-ny-sis

Broon-hill-duh

Dine, like "dining out"

Kazar was "Kay-zar" in the X-Men animated series.

Daken is "Dah-ken," both because that's actually how the Japanese word for "mongrel" is pronounced and because the creators rhymed it with "rockin" at least once. If I can find the interview, I will post it.

Thanos should probably be "Than-ose" to relate it to Thanatos, whose name his was clearly based on; however, he is an alien, so who actually knows. Gamora has the same "alien, no actual frame of reference" problem, but I've always said "Ga-more-a."

Mxyzptlk has more than once compared it to the English words "Mix Yes Pit Lick."

@DFChewie:

I guess I can more or less confirm those with other sources:

I just randomly came across a reprint of Ka-zar's first appearance, and it actually says right on the first page "pronounced KAY-sar!"

Also in this month's Batman: Brave and the Bold, there's a note that says Mxyzptlk is pronounced "Mix-yez-pitel-ick." B:B&B isn't officially canon, but the note is editorial, not part of the story.

Is it "Thah-nohss" or "Tha-nohss" or "Thay-noss"? I'm debating with a friend of mine on how it is pronounced.
