I saw Guardians of the Galaxy this past weekend at a Sunday matinee. Like most people I really enjoyed the movie. It was fun peeping out all the easter eggs and cameos. Of course there was the obligatory Stan Lee cameo we've all come to expect and the one getting the most buzz is Howard the Duck. But my "Oh Sh*t" moment came during a quick shot in the prison where I saw none other than Lloyd Kaufman! For the uninformed Lloyd Kaufman is the co-founder of Troma Entertainment. Who had their heyday in the 80's with movies like The Toxic Avenger, Class of Nuke 'Em High and Sgt. Kabukiman NYPD. Growing up I was a huge Troma fan. And while James Gunn may now be a household name in your own home, he's been one in mine for years. One of Troma's best features in the 90's was Tromeo and Juliet. Which was written by Mr. James Gunn. He also has an acting credit in Citizen Toxie: The Toxic Avenger IV (aka the only good sequel in the series). So did any of you out there catch this? Anyone else here on Comicvine a Troma fan?

Yeah, that really bothered me. Do people not have good reading comprehension or something?
OT: That's pretty cool. I've never seen a Troma movie but I am familiar with Kaufman and I'll look for him if I see the movie again.
@smashbrawler: Thanks man. Gunn and Kaufman are longtime friends. If you've seen any other James Gunn movies like Slither or Super, Lloyd has cameos in those as well. I just thought it was cool. Apparently I'm one of a few who noticed or cared.
I hope that Korath gif becomed extremely popular.
Beata
I'm definitely going to use it a lot.

I posted the gif just for the sake of posting it.
This video was put together by Mr. Sunday Movies. He makes mention of Lloyd Kaufman at the 4:00 mark. Enjoy!
@stormdriven: lol Perfect.
@ostyo: Thank you ;D
I noticed it immediately when I saw the extended preview of the movie a few weeks back - noticed it again when I saw the film in the theatre on Sunday aswell. I didn't know who he was at first, but the face looked too distinguishable for it not to be someone well known. At first I thought that it was Mel Brooks, but that seemed too far fetched to be the case. Then I read about the connection between Kaufman and Gunn and pieced it together.
I thought this was going to be about the alleged Beta Ray Bill cameo that I've noticed a few people mention. Apparently in one of the Collector's Prisons there was a character dressed similarly to Thor with his cape turned to the audience? Did anyone notice this? I wouldn't put it past Gunn to do this.
@cf12793: I've heard mention of a Bill cameo as well. I may go see the movie again tomorrow when I go pick up my books. I'll make sure and pay extra close attention.
I saw him when I saw GotG the second time! My friend and I also thought he looked like Mel Brooks, but that did seem strange. So glad to know that it's Lloyd Kaufman! He was also in an episode of the Angry Video Game Nerd recently.

That's what I thought too. Here's a picture of the scene: judge for yourself:
