Oh. For some reason I thought it would be a bunch of inappropriate pictures and virus. I'm actually kind of disappointed.

@zerosuituser: No. They're purely text-based advertisements (they don't even have functioning links) that usually repeat the same URL address over and over again, or they just advertise some sort of service like relationship advice followed by a name and phone number.

I even went to one of the websites advertised. It was just a Korean Casino site, and there was nothing malicious about it either.

@zerosuituser: Yeah they probably do, but its wholly impossible to block spammers who have even the slightest knowledge about what they're doing.

Banning IP's, country blocks, "Great firewalls" CatchPA's -they can all be circled around fairly easily with bots if you know how. Blocking extensively is more nuisance to actual users than the bots.

If by know you mean the IP addresses which these bots originate from then yes, and they (as in staff and engineers, and not mods because they don't have this ability) do make an effort to IP ban them.
