Which is more powerful the force or the magic from the harry potter universe?
The Force or Harry Potter Magic?
Both are the very power of the universe, almost like what we might think of as God. The Force is more explicit about it (in the original trilogy) so I'd go with The Force.
On a Side note Harry Potter magic is closer to a mystical form of ethical humanism while The Force is pretty clearly the Tao.
It depends on who is wielding them. A padawan's use of the Force isn't as powerful as Harry Potter's whereas Sideous's use of it is more powerful.
Force Trumps harry potter magic easily but not as useful force could match up to certain comic book magics but not many.
Just go to the Battle forums and create a "Harry Potter vs Luke Skywalker" thread, see how fast it gets closed.
Or better yet, create a "Gandalf vs Luke Skywalker" thread.
The Force > Magic
@JediXMan: I'd much prefer to have all these powers and abilities than harry potter magic.

Also until Harry potter does something like in the scan you showed will I be impressed by them.
(I'm agreeing with you)
Magic can simulate everything the force does, which is mostly Jedi mind tricks and telekinesis. Magic also conjures food from thin air, makes tents and bags the size of mansions and allows teleportation and time travel, shapeshifting and immortality (at a cost).
I'd rather have that, imo.
The force is only nearly as versatile as magic at the higher levels and I would say it’s harder to become a top tier force user than high tier magic user. However force users have an advantage of not needing an object to channel power through- granted this isn’t an absolute in HP since there’s a school in Africa that exclusively that teaches wandless magic, but that just makes progression much harder and it’s less focused.
The force also allows stat augmentation which magic doesn’t. Overall though in day to day life I think I’d prefer magic.
Magic is weak compared to technology...Wizards may be ahead in some areas but they are backwards in many respects as well...
Isn’t magic a LOT more versatile? There is essentially a spell for anything. The Force just gives you some TK, which can be strong TK but it is a lot more limited than magic than can do anything.

The Force is very versatile too.
The force vs magic in general I would say magic but Harry Potter style magic is a nope.
It would take much higher level better magic to keep up with what the force can do.
The Force can be used to do anything, with enough knowledge of it. Its versatility is limitless. The degree to which you can perform abilities is simply a matter of power, and the Force is omnipotent.
@crater_maker: there's ghosts in the HP world!
Can the force make the dishes wash themselves as you prepare an elaborate meal in seconds with a wave of your hand before turning a chair into a large banquet table and then teleporting to the other side of the planet to invite your friends to dinner?
The Force is not even close to as versatile. There's a spell for basically anything you could ever want to do.

The Force can actually do all of that outside of creating an elaborate meal in seconds tbh. Granted, the Force can be used to sustain you in place of sleep and sustenance so...
Any feats of the Force animating dishes to wash themselves without you needing to concentrate on them?
Like. It isn't just TK. Magic can make inanimate objects do things on their own without your further input. And there's no limit to how long they can be animated or how many things you can animate.
Also I've never seen the force transform an object into another object before.
For any average user, magic by far. For the canon god tiers . . . still magic. Take the EU Super Saiyan Jedi, and I guess the Force is better at the highest levels.
@jucaslucasa: Aren’t there spell-based applications of force as well?
@zetsu-san: I guess, but I haven't seen any as versatile as HP magic, at least not without EU Super Saiyans.
@jucaslucasa: Eh, I suppose. Lets just agree MoL magic is more interesting than both. xD
@zetsu-san: Bar pure raw power, I'd say HP is better than MoL tbh.
@jucaslucasa: MoL magic is far more fleshed out and is more or less capable of all the same things, even if some things are rarer in-universe.
@zetsu-san: It's more of a "harder" magic, but I'd say both can be equally interesting, MoL just focus on the magic system itself more.
HP magic has no mana, so that's a huge plus from the start. Seems a lot easier to learn, and most non-dark-side magical knowledge is more available, and it just seems to be more versatile in general with the non-god tier stuff.
Edit: This thread is not about MoL doe, so better to take it to a PM or Discord if we wanna argue it. >_>

You mean infusing an inanimate object with life? Not that I recall.
Fair enough. It's a very useful ability that the Force can't necessarily replicate.
Theoretically, the Force should be capable of transmutation. I believe some of the Force using ewoks or Sith artifacts imbued with the Force were capable of such.
