Poll The Dark Knight Rises or Thor (117 votes)
Which was the better film? I say Thor. What do you guys think?

I say Thor! The Dark Knight Rises was okay, but feel it was long and drawn out, this made me board. There is an abundance of BatFan's on the vine, which makes this poll useless. They are gonna support Batman regardless.
TDRK no doubt! It was extreme without being to extravagant and enough action without being too violent. It was a big film unlink Thor which was kinda just thrown at the public to pave way for The Avengers. I like Thor but it could have been done so much better and rushed. Same with Captain America and Iron Man 2&3

I don't think the First Avenger was really rushed at all, but I do agree that Iron Man 2 was rushed to get ready for Avengers.
Thor was Meh at best. somewhere around 6/10
Rises was 9/10/
*Sigh* I'm getting sick of these "The Dark Knight/Man of Steel" vs whatever Marvel has up their sleeves...
not the people's fault WB and DC are putting out bad movies.
Loki was better in Thor than he was in Avengers, so I'm gonna go with Thor.
I completely agree about Loki. In Thor he's awesome! His motivations to 1-up his brother and take control of Asgard felt so human and so awesome to me.
Then Avengers...ugh. I won't get into it.
@deranged_midget: fair enough.

I really don't understand why TDKR is considered one of the worst CBM on this site. Its not one of my favourites but I got my moneys worth out of it. I mean sure the ending sucked but does that really down the entire film?
Batman quits for eight freakin' years because his ex-girlfriend died, then he quits again because he's tired of being Batman. That's why it's one of the worst.
That's not why he quit. He quit because Gotham didn't need him anymore. Thanks to the Dent Act crime was at an all time low. There was no more gang bosses, no more super criminals like Ra's or Joker, the streets were clean, and just like Gordon, Batman was a "soldier" and they were "at a peace time". He became Batman again because of Bane.
I love both of these movies. However, I watched Thor again recently and I forgot how much I loved it. It has to be Thor!
@jwalser3: I liked that though. It's a movie about a God. Realism has to be stretched. Nolan made Batman a little too realistic. In the comics he's fast and agile but in the movies his movements seemed clunky. The Thor franchise knows what it is.

He quit because the Batman in the Nolan films is different from comic Batman. The Bruce Wayne in the Nolan films set out to inspire people and he did, the movie has a very obvious exposition where the character of John Blake bluntly tells you that crime is almost non existent. There is no need for a Batman. Its not like the comics where there is perpetual super villains running amok.
I have to ask: Do you dislike stories like "The Dark Knight Returns" or "Batman Beyond"?? Because Bruce retires in them too.
I like both, but Rises wins for me.
Rises was a satisfying conclusion to me, and I'm not really a fan of the campy humor that's used in Marvel films so frequently.
TDKR, the better, and more revolutionary film and franchise. Nolan single-handedly saved the entire Batman franchise from complete and total oblivion 14 years ago.
The only Thor movie that I really liked / enjoyed was the latest one, Thor Ragnarok. The first one was pretty mediocre and I can't even remember the 2nd one. Dark Knight Rises was my least favorite of the trilogy, (don't like what they did with Bane) but still prefer it over the first Thor movie.
I bet looking back all those whom voted for Thor must be ashamed of themselves.
Why? Thor is a much better movie than Rises

It really wasn't.
