Welcome to the second edition of the Comic Vine Movie Awards! We know there's plenty of fantastic looking movies heading our way in the years to come, but let's take some time to reflect on just how much awesomeness was packed into 2013. We each have our favorites and now you have the opportunity to tell the world why these films deserve praise.

Keeping it limited to just comic book movies would restrict matters, so we included a few films we know the community really dug this year, too. We've created 10 categories -- ranging from best director to best movie -- and ultimately, the winner of each category will be determined by your votes. Will Marvel and DC take a majority of the awards or will one of the other films swoop in and earn extra praise? Go get your vote on, Viners!

To vote in other categories, check out the main article which will be located on the homepage!

Winners will be announced next Monday (12/30/13).

*Yes, we realize some of these characters are technically more than "supporting" characters, but we wanted to restrict the number of options in "Best Hero" while also not completely neglecting these characters in the awards, either.

This is tough. For me it's between Costner, Mckellen and Jim Carey. Have to think about this.

I waffled between Yukio and Faora. I ended up voting for Faora. I thought she stole the show in Man of Steel.

Giving it to Gandalf since his role was most influential and involved.

This but I accidently voted Faora, she was a very close second anyway.

Faora! She was badass and probably my favorite part about MOS.

"You Shall not Pass!"

Wait.... Wrong movie but you cant beat Ian's Gandalf.

#25 Posted by AirDave817 (807 posts) - - Show Bio

Gandalf is awesome, but Pepper Potts has got to come in a close second.

#26 Posted by lifeofvibe (3425 posts) - - Show Bio

Interesting faora seems to be winning here...I like that

#27 Posted by ME24601 (118 posts) - - Show Bio

Kevin Costner was an absolutely terrible Jonathan Kent.

Same here. I feel Loki should of been here, if he was he would of stomped.

Anyway, I voted for Faora by Antje Traue, she played the character very well. I really can't comment on Gandalf but I can imagine him to be very good, I just haven't seen The Hobbit 2 yet.

#34 Posted by buttersdaman000 (9486 posts) - - Show Bio

This is where Loki shouldv'e been placed, and if he were, I would've chose him. But, with what I have.....Faora

#35 Posted by JTMac005 (8 posts) - - Show Bio

what about Russell Crowe's Jor-El?

#36 Posted by audiszayd (54 posts) - - Show Bio

Faora... She pretty much stood her ground and I enjoyed ever scene she was in. Especially the scenes where she speaks... that accent.

#37 Posted by TimeLordScience (768 posts) - - Show Bio

I get that a lot of people like Faora, but better than Gandalf? Really?

Faora, hands down.

#41 Posted by feedonatreefrog (199 posts) - - Show Bio

Pa Kent for best supporting 'character'

Faora for best supporting 'badass'.

#42 Posted by Shallbecomeabattoo (363 posts) - - Show Bio

I voted Heimdal, but only because I somehow didn't realized that Pa Kent was on the list. Oh well. Idris is a bad ass, so all is good,

#43 Posted by Hawkguy (571 posts) - - Show Bio

Faora is beating Gandalf? Huh???

#44 Posted by MasterBelmont (363 posts) - - Show Bio

Gandalf. It's Gandalf, that is all.

#45 Posted by Battle_Forum_Junkie (7590 posts) - - Show Bio

I'm going to have to think this over...

#46 Posted by Mister_Sensational (176 posts) - - Show Bio

Faora should be in the Best Villain category. She was so badass!

#47 Posted by GrenadeFlow (1367 posts) - - Show Bio

Idris Elba in Pacific Rim.

He carried the movie IMO, he felt like the lead

This one is reeeal hard, they all did a great job,and the Finals were between Faora and Gandalf, so off course, i had to pick Gandalf, specially on what he faces ans how he does it on this movie!!
