"Don't get me wrong, I love comic books! I've been reading them ever since I was old enough to read. I created "Wind & Fire" not in the classic hero comic book form, but more as a n martial arts action movie. Or maybe an anime movie. They're not recognized by an "S" or lighting bolt on their chest. They don't shoot lasers out their eyes or make people tell the truth with a rope. We have guns, knives, swords, and explosives. They use their own human senses as their powers! I'm a film maker. I look at making a graphic novel like making a movie. If you have a good script you have to get the right crew for the project. Comic books are the same way. You have to find the right script and artist to create the imaginary world your characters live in. And just like a producer choosing a director for each film, I chose a different artist for each issue. So each issue will be a classic in itself.
Though, my characters are talented in their own special way. They are more defined by who they are and what they do. Nobody asked Jack Bauer where was his cape and cowl. Okay, Travis does have a Cobra headed cane sword, blind and sees infrared. But that's beside the point. 'Hhahahhah!'
The purpose of this book is to show you the "behind the scenes" look of the creation of the series. It truly takes a whole team to make this series come alive from the writers and artist from around the world. We each had to be on the "same page". Talking and e-mailing back and forth to make sure we understood each other. Language barriers had to be crossed dealing with different countries.
It all started with a Ninja Master (Master Togi) that went vigilante on the streets of New York that I created in high school. It was for a high school comic book that we sold in high school. A bunch of kids did there own stories and put it in one book. I didn't know that it was my story was the one keeping the sells going mine was pulled for to much violence and graphic nature.
Later, I also wanted to have a comic strip kind of like Dick Tracy. I wanted a different twist. Since I was a martial artist I can it an action background. And who makes a come back appearance, Togi as (Detective Wane's Master). So in 1999, I brought the book back to what I wanted it to be. It's a great way to reintroduce the cast of the CG animated movie that's coming (Wind & Fire: The Origin). I think everyone would love to read the novel series, if they like action, anime, martial arts, blood, sex and violence. Who doesn't? Isn't that's how the country was made? Talk to you later! Peace!"
