We're back! This used to be a VIDEO FEATUREfor over one hundred episodes. We've changed the format to a text version as most seem to prefer it this way.
Each week we take a look at the other Best Stuff you might have missed...this week.
CONVERGENCE: BATGIRL #1
Best Reason for a Zipper on your Super-Suit
This is something I've brought up many many times. When do superheroes go to the bathroom? This is something Stephanie Brown has to deal with. Having a super-suit doesn't always mean super-convenience.
ANGELA: ASGARD’S ASSASSIN #5
Best 80s Song Reference
Star-Lord is a child of the 80s (somehow). While getting wrapped up in Angela's scheme of kidnapping her half-sister, they have to make a trip to Heven. Of course Star-Lord makes a reference some might not quite get.
HULK #14
Best Reason Deadpool Can’t Die In This Issue
Deadpool has been helping out HulkDoc Green. He gets in a bit of a mess himself. Could this be the end for Deadpool? Of course not. This week's issue of DEADPOOL is his death issue. It says so on the cover.
CONVERGENCE: BATMAN AND ROBIN #1
Best Corny Villain Line to Remind You of ‘Batman & Robin’
Ugh. It's best if we all try to forget those Mr. Freeze lines.
ALL-NEW HAWKEYE #2
Best Codename Back Story
How did Clint Barton get the name "Hawkeye"? It's not really a huge secret. We know he has a good eye and is really good at shooting things with an arrow. In this week's flashback portion, we see the birth of the nickname when he returns a dropped item.
ANT-MAN #4
Best Group for Former Super-Villains
Not all super-villains wish to continue the same life of constant defeats. For many, they don't have any other options. It turns out there is an group that can help them.
AVENGERS WORLD #19
Best ‘The Warriors’ Reference
Did you ever see The Warriors? Hopefully you've seen it. Sunspot has seen it. Sadly, not everyone around him has and the reference falls a little flat.
CONVERGENCE: JUSTICE LEAGUE #1
Best Sound for Teleporting
And here we all thought Nightcrawler held the trademark on the teleporting sound FX. Apparently not. Zatanna pops into the hospital and we see that familiar sound appear.
S.H.I.E.L.D. #4
Best Invisible Jet
Wonder Woman's the only one with an Invisible Jet, right? Not really. If a DC character can borrow from the Marvel Universe, why not the other way around as well. With the revelation that Sue Richards, the Invisible Woman, has gone on the occasional S.H.I.E.L.D. missions, she does her part to make an aircraft easily be able to fly through the city.
DARTH VADER #4
Best Reason Not to Program Droids with Sarcasm
I think pretty much everyone that has watched the Star Wars movies would love to have a droid or two for themselves. It seems not all are programmed the same way. A droid with sarcasm? That seems dangerous, especially around Darth Vader.
Best use of an Invisible Force Field
This was a close one this week. Sue Richards almost won by using a fore field while performing open heart surgery (seriously, in SHIELD #4). But Vader isn't just making an invisible force field, he's using the Force to do so without even flinching.
HOWARD THE DUCK #2
Best Alternative to Comic-Con
We all know getting into San Diego Comic-Con can be pretty difficult. Even if you can get a ticket, there's still the hotel situation to deal with. What we see in this week's HOWARD THE DUCK might actually be just a little bit easier to go to---CosmoCon.
DEADPOOL #250 (Issue #45)
Best Worst Corny Line
I like a good corny pun as much, if not more, than the next person. The Thing has had a rough day. He's hungry. Finally getting a chance to eat, he just can't help himself but utter a variation to his famous catchphrase.
That's it this week. Let us know in the comments below what other Best Stuff you dug this past week. Thanks to @Jawshco for his suggestions. If you want to participate or felt we missed some other Best Stuff, you can @reply me on Twitter at @GManFromHeck by Saturdays using the hashtag #BestStuffInComics. We'll give you a shout out and I'll think you're pretty groovy.
Be sure to always look for the best stuff and always be sure to chill out if you think of quoting Arnold Schwarzenegger's lines from Batman & Robin.
