The Best Stuff In Comics: 11-24-14

Normally this has been a VIDEO FEATUREfor over one hundred episodes. We're still toying with the idea of changing the format to see what works best. It's all a matter of time for us to produce and in how you all prefer to consume this feature. I've toyed with the idea of testing a text version to see how it goes. UNCANNY X-MEN #28

Best Thing to do After an Intense Confrontation

There's an extremely powerful "new" mutant on the scene. He's already killed a lot of people, accidentally, with his powers. Cyclops has decided it's up to him to try to calm him down and even recruit him for his cause. Part of his plan for after talking to the mutant included...breakfast.

Some do say breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Maybe this new mutant just needs a really good breakfast to calm him down.

BATMAN AND ROBIN #36

Best Compliment from Batman

Batman went off to Apokolips to retrieve Damian's body. Jason Todd, Tim Drake, and Batgirl, along with Titus and Cyborg, went after to help. He insisted on going alone but when he saw his family all dressed in Robin's colors, he couldn't help but acknowledge it.

Too bad they didn't make Cyborg an honorary Robin and make him wear the colors too.

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY #21

Best Aliens Homage

Flash Thompson/Venom has been freaking out a little. After joining the Guardians of the Galaxy, he sort of got separated from the others. Now he just wants to go back to Earth.

This scene looks a little familiar.

Amazing Spider-Man #10

Best Spider-Motto during a Crisis

Being Spider-Man is not a good thing, in any dimension. In the Spider-Verse storyline, different Spider-People are being hunted and killed by the Inheritors (Morlun and his family). As Miles Morales and Ultimate Jessica Drew were being attacked, they were rescued by others and given words to live by.

Reminds me a little of Barney Stinson.

Maybe there's a world where Spider-Man is telling his kid how he met his or her mother.

Best Spider-Animal Face Off

We're supposed to be seeing every version of Spider-Man in the storyline. As they start gathering in the safe zone, we see a strange encounter.

Spider-Monkey and Spider-Ham. Image if we had a team-up miniseries with the two.

D&D: LEGENDS OF BALDUR'S GATE #2

Best Heroic Solution to any Dilemma

You can imagine what life might be like in a Dungeon and Dragons story/world. In this week's issue, we get some words to live by.

AVENGERS WORLD #15

Doctor Doom Realizes What the Most Important Thing in Life is

As part of the events in AXIS, many have been affected by the Inversion Spell. The spell ended up flip flopping the ideals of some villains and heroes. Doctor Doom now ponders the things he's been doing and has come to a conclusion as to what is most important in life.

Don't forget your family. Tell your parents or kids you love them every chance you get.

SUPERMAN/WONDER WOMAN #13

Best Startled Expression

We know Superman has incredible sense and could probably hear a fly pass gas if he wanted to. But sometimes even the Man of Steel becomes focused in his work and can be caught off guard.

To his defense, he was deep in thought, trying to put down some personal thoughts before he forgets them (doesn't he have a super-memory?). He was also typing on a typewriter. Those things are pretty dang loud. And maybe Wonder Woman's fancy dress caught him off guard too.

MOON KNIGHT #9

Best Three-Piece Suit

Moon Knight visits his psychiatrist and they do a little freaky mind-journey session. At one point during their conversation, we see a visual representation of his recent personalities/guises.

PUNK MAMBO #0

Best Headbutt

We here at Comic Vine do not condone violence. But sometimes, especially in comics, there are some skeezy guys. Take Joe Mayhem. He's not a nice guy. When our lead character meets up with him later in the introductory story, she gives him a greeting he deserves.

HARLEY QUINN #12

Best Question About Space Children Living on Floating Rocks

HARLEY QUINN is a pretty insane comic. We won't even start to explain why Harley and Power Girl are out and space and have gone to visit an all-powerful alien from another dimension living out in space on a bunch of floating rocks with his kids around. But Harley does bring up a very important question.

AXIS: CARNAGE #2

Best Twisted "Hero" Logic

Again, as part of the events in AVENGERS & X-MEN: AXIS, Carnage can't fight the need to be a hero. When some criminals attempt to rob a bank, he has one way to prevent them from doing so.

At least he's trying, right?

DAREDEVIL #10

Best Suckerpunch

Purple Man is another skeezy guy. With the ability to get people to do whatever he wants simply by commanding them with his voice, it's nice to see the big jerk get what's coming to him. Thankfully Daredevil was able to drown out the sound of his voice to deliver a knockout punch.

Best Reverse Assassination

Assassinating someone isn't cool. But when Frank Quitely draws it happening, in reverse, it's a sight to see.

This isn't the beginning/end of the sequence. We'll save the gruesome detailed sequence for you to check out when you pick up the issue.

BATMAN/SUPERMAN #16

Best Batman Impression

At a hospital, a couple guys would go into the kids' ward dressed up as Batman and Superman to entertain the kids. Later when the real Batman and Superman are investigating an incident there, one of the kids does a Batman impression.

You can see Superman loved it but Batman wasn't too crazy about it.

Best Insight into Batman Mind

A lot of readers think Batman is the best. He can practically do it all. With the "Batman always wins" angle, he's almost unstoppable. Who wouldn't want to be Batman, right? Well, when discussing the Joker and the things he's done against Batman's family, Superman asks him about crossing a certain line. Batman says he won't and tells himself that again and again but someday... The intensity of the conversation leaves Superman with this conclusion:

Being Batman isn't all it's cracked up to be.

So here's the thing, if you're going to call yourself "Oddball," you have to think about what you're going to say when you present yourself to a foe for the first time.

Best Poll of the Week

Last week the poll dealt with the best Avengers Now 'first' issue. We saw the first issues for Falcon as Captain America, Tony Stark as the SUPERIOR Iron Man, and the first issue really showing the mysterious female with the power of Thor. You can check out those results HERE.

This week's poll, we want to know who is your favorite over-powered mutant as seen in UNCANNY X-MEN #28.

As Cyclops told the new mutant, "You're not the first one of use to be tested and challenged by the nature of your power. Its BS because he was probably the strongest pure spiderman ever created.(By pure i mean his powerset is the same as the originals)

per the poll: i chose legion as such a tragic and dark character who was able to control his power and personalities a little better than when he started , it kinda sucks to know he technically does not exist anymore . Marvel really hates their characters being OP lol
