The Best Anime?

Personally I'm goin with Gurren Laggan

Death Note is my favorite. And before anyone says it, yes, I like the second half too, true, it's not as good as the first, but it was still good.

Fushigi Yuugi is my fav. But aren't there already a ton of threads along these lines?

My three favorites are Gurren Lagann, Code Geass, and Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood.

Kill la Kill gets an honorable mention.

@silent_knight: In a way. People say it went downhill because it lost its main protaganist and Near/Mello were inferior replacements to L. I agree, they are, but I still found Mello entertaining (I don't like Near). And I think the ending was perfect, though, I think Light should have won.

Lets not forget FLCL and Dragonball everyone (dragonball gets so many refreances it be a crime no to put it out there)

Samurai Champloo, without a doubt. It had style, great animation, and a superb story.

This might cause some sighs but I have never seen a Hayao Miyazaki movie that was not completely awesome.

Ghost Stories.

Gintama was my most enjoyable one. The serious story arcs were also some of the best I've ever seen.

Monster without a doubt best villain in anime history.

Durarara for me. Used to be Death Note.

Princess Mononoke is my favorite anime film with Rurouni Kenshin: Trust and Betrayal a close second.

For regular anime Eureka Seven and Part 1 of Naruto.

Yu-Gi-Oh! is my personal favorite anime of all-time.

I don't really have a favorite anime. There are several that I'm quite fond of but I don't think I could say any one is outright better than the rest.

That being said, and just because I know no one else is going to say it...

Digimon: Tamers.

As OP said, Gurren Lagann is the best anime.

I know there are technically animes that beat it out in plenty of categories, but I don't think I'll ever appreciate one as much as Lagann.

I'm just going to say Code Geass... because... yeah.

Well I would say Fullmetal Alchemist, but that's pretty obvious, so the only other anime I would give a 10/10 to is Hajime No Ippo aka Fighting Spirit

Also, Hajime no Ippo is the only sports anime I've ever really enjoyed.

no way! the one with the ghost in the cat? i love that anime. i didn't think anyone remembered or liked it.

it's a shame berserk wasn't animated better i would have put it as number 1 as well.

Favorites series are Cowboy Bebop, Berserk, Mushi shi and samurai champloo.

Honorable mention: Witchhunter Robin (liked it but could have been much better)

Yeah. Hard to argue with that though. Mononoke is also brillaint in what it has to say.

I liked Princess Mononoke as well, but it's far from my favorite.

You could make a top 10 greatest anime exclusively of Miyazaki and no one could argue =P
