The Mxy thing isn't a weakness, its a limit he puts on himself to keep things interesting. If he didn't make the rule it would not apply.

And I totally agree with what KnightRise said.

Weaknesses are what makes a good character; in this case if Martian Manhunter didn't have the fire weakness, he'd literally be indestructable and unstoppable. And about the cancer one, it's a problem we face today and it's a perfectly fine weakness to have; I see no problems. And like JoshMightBe said, you made fun people dying with cancer. -Shakes my head.-
