THANOS or DARKSEID: Which One Has Better Feats?

As these two major comic book villains have been opposing counterpart rivals since forever, they both have made a huge impact in their respective universes, but IYO, which one do you think has overall had better feats than the other?

Darkseid has the better feat - for being the inspiration for Thanos' creation by Marvel...

Darkseid probably has the better single feats, but Thanos jobs far, far less, and has become the more intimidating villain.  I mean, sure Thanos is a rip off, but at least he is respected by writers. Darkseid isn't.

Darkseid is called Jobberseid for a reason.

Thanos was inspired by Metron, not Darkseid.

@CitizenBane: *Metron AND Darkseid

@CitizenBane: Really? He seems far more like Darkseid in terms of demeanor than Metron. But that's cool to know. And personally I'd say Darkseid has better feats physical feats than Thanos but Thanos has slightly better planning/prep feats.

From wikipedia:

Although there are parallels with Jack Kirby's Darkseid, Starlin has said this was not quite the case:

Kirby had done the New Gods, which I thought was terrific. He was over at DC at the time. I came up with some things that were inspired by that. You'd think that Thanos was inspired by Darkseid, but that was not the case when I showed up. In my first Thanos drawings, if he looked like anybody, it was Metron. I had all these different gods and things I wanted to do, which became Thanos and the Titans. Roy took one look at the guy in the Metron-like chair and said : "Beef him up! If you're going to steal one of the New Gods, at least rip off Darkseid, the really good one!"

I know, right? I feel dirty =P

I decided it's better to mellow on him since he's such a pivotal villain in many major comic events.

@entropy_aegis: Thanos has a hover chair though. Does Darkseid have a pimpin ride like that?

#12 Posted by entropy_aegis (12319 posts) - 1 year, 26 days ago - Show Bio

@Lvenger: Does'nt need it,he gave one to Metron.

#13 Posted by Lvenger (8228 posts) - 1 year, 26 days ago - Show Bio

@entropy_aegis: So that's where Metron got his chair from? Darkseid does pull off the sitting on a throne thing well though I have to admit. His posture for that type of thing is perfect.

He gets the thing that powers the chair from Darkseid(Element X).Darkseid prefers comfy sofas.

@Lvenger: Hail the couch.

@Lvenger: Not really a ride, but Darkseid does look badass on a throne

Darkseid, he turned Supergirl into his own little sex slave just for fun

@The Stegman: HAHA. Great pic. Have you seen Batman/Superman Apokolips animated film? He totally had Kara under his thumb and probably got intimate with her. I say Darkseid wins vs Thanos in feats.

I feel like Darkseid wouldn't have that much of a libido.

Why are we talking about Darkseid's sex life, again?

#24 Edited by Zeeguy91 (908 posts) - 1 year, 12 days ago - Show Bio

@SavageDragon: Agreed. I mean, so many stories in which Darkseid presents himself as one of the most massive threats that the DCU will ever see: GDS, Legends, Superman/Batman Supergirl, Final Crisis, etc.

Plus, without Darkseid, there wouldn't even be a Thanos. I just wish that Darkseid got more respect, though. He was wasted on the Justice League Origin arc. Like I seriously hope Johns brings him back and uses him properly in a story arc where he actually gets some screen time where he doesn't just beat them up and walk away. I want Darkseid to actually threaten them in a way that is much more complex than physical confrontation.

Thanos literally became God for a short time... Has Darkseid topped that?

Well he did become omnipotent during Death of the New Gods.

Thanos owned the universe thrice, which is hard to top, but Darseid sure is a great villain. Those guys are two of my favorites.

And yes, I think Darseid did very kinky things with Super Barbie.

Yeah I agree I'd say Thanos . Hal Jordan as Paralax during Zero Hour probably tops them both though.
