thanos cannot beat hulk H2H

he can only beat hulk with his energy attacks

I think it matters, if not obvious. Thanos is a pretty powerful dude, but he needs more than hand to hand to beat Hulk.

I am not sure given that they are you know? They are fictional characters and fictional characters with no absolutely fixed traits like say their characters power levels and that Thanos is a character that has the following consistent character traits =  no known limit to his strength and can increase it, not with anger but by will. That as well as Hulk's strength also something that fluctuates. To me personally it would be like saying it will never rain on Thursday.

Understandable, I'm just pointing out (the obvious) that if such a situation where to arise it wouldn't be thought of or attributed to PIS or CIS. Some might just jump to "Hulk shouldn't be able to beat Thanos no matter what." -shrugs-

Thanos fought Odin to a stand stilll... Odin equal to Zeus.. Zeus pummeled Hulk.. so in a round about way Thanos should pummel Hulk. But again its up to the writers and how much continuity is being observed or ignored. Also Thanos rarely gets into physical confrontations with his foe, its not his style. And he's an Eternal so you have to look at it from that stand point, what have other Eternals done against Hulk?

I seem to remember Thanos slapping Thor aside without any trouble. Same for Hulk. And we're talking about a guy who regularly beats Silver Surfer down at close range.

if this is Thanos without energy attacks but still super strong, he can defeat the Hulk. The guy is damn strong and as already said, can increase his own strenght. Not to mention all his other perks.

Thanos > Odin > Thor = Hulk or

Thanos > Odin = Zeus > Hulk

Either way logically I think Thanos ought to be able to beat Hulk in h2h

Depends on the writer I guess, He is certainly equipped to fight The Hulk, and we know he fights dirty. But I agree I can't see Thanos withstanding a full Hulk Rampage without any of his cosmic upgrades.
