I read and enjoy Tarot, Witch of the Black Rose and some of the Xenoscope titles and last week I picked up Purgatory. Not to mention I've also enjoyed Bomb Queen. Typically though if anyone sees these titles on my desk the initial reaction is either amused tolerance that I'd have it or irritation that I have it. The large breasts seem to stop any curiosity about the storylines. This puts the characters and the titles at a tremendous disadvantage since some people just won't pick up the book period. Not perhaps a problem for mainstream characters like Wonder Woman or Super Girl, but a definite problem for an indy title being published by a hand to mouth operation.

Can a female character overcome this and go on to be taken seriously as a character instead of just cheesecake?
