Tactical Characters in CAVs

I was reading a CAV and someone pointed out how saying a character is tactical is irrelevant since you choose the characters actions and it really made me think, are we looking at it as this is why my character will win or this is how my character is going to beat yours?

Is a characters tactical ability truly relevant in a CAV?

I would say so. It would certainly help if one were to argue against a character who wasn't.

I agree with this. Either the character does what they would normally do, and it's relevant or the debater chooses what the character will do and it's not. Although, typically in CAVs you still have to act within the limits of the character in which case it factors in to some extent.
