This isn't really a battle, it's more of a question about what he could do to adamantium.

Can it cut him if the hulk had adamantium claws like wolverine and tried? I doubt wolverine could use enough force to cut him.

Can superman bend it?

Is his heat vision hot enough to melt it? I doubt so since I don't even think it can be melted at all.

I don't think superman could do anything to damage or get rid of adamantium

What do you think?

New 52 superman to be specific since this has been done before with pre new 52 superman. Remember he has been cut and bruised before, so I think it would cut him if the hulk or someone stronger used it

Personally I always saw wolverine's claws vs superman kind of like cutting wood with a machete, it'll cut it, but might not go through easily.

Marvel said its indestructible and retconned any previous case of it being damaged by saying that it was secondary adamantium. And superman has been hurt before, so I don't think so. It's been in the sun and lava and survived.

Supermans skin can be broken, and adamantium can't right? So I don't think so

Can it cut him

New 52 - Definitely Pre-52 Probably not

Can superman bend it?

Absolutely.

Is his heat vision hot enough to melt it?

New 52 - No Pre-52 - Very possibly, since we never saw it's limits

I think Superman could bend and break adamantium.

He could also punch through it, too, though the amount of punches it would take would depend on the thickness of the adamantium.

Ultron softened Adamantium to upgrade and repair his armour and the human torch once broke out of a cage of adamantium

Didn't adamantium have to be able to bemelted - to be able to be injected into Wolverine (& others) in the first place? IDK if it's in any Superman-respect thread here, but I'd love to see a collection of things Superman has melted with his heat-vision, so we could look up the melting points/specific-heats of the materials & see just how hot his HV can be.

I agree with cutting. If enough force is applied I bet it could cut him at least a little. I don't know who's bent it in the Marvel-verse (has Hulk?) but I'd confidently say Superman could bend it. Adamantium's not magic so given Supes' strength feats there's no way it could maintain it's rigidity under the forces he can create.

Nope, the Adamantium had never solidified since it's creation until it was fused to Logan's skeleton.

vibranium is think is the only thing that could technically melt adamantium. I know about the secondary and true adamantium so im not sure which type is in this scan. but its more like molecular manipulation. Caps shield has an even more rare form of adamantium that is stronger than wolverines

But ya i think adamantium could supes

@sheenlantern: Um..could you go into a bit more detail? That's not making perfect sense to me (it was created/designed in it's liquid form? And in the process of solidifying it gained a property that made it harder to go back to the liquid state? (which doesn't make a lot of sense the real-world at least. Apply enough energy and it'll change it's state of matter)).

True Adamantium in Marvel has not been broken ! Hulk has dented and bended it.. Thor has dented it by smacking it as hard as he could with his hammer.. Only dented... Once Adamantium solidifies it can't be liquified ! Vibranium is a mixture of true Adamantium and vibranium.. It's a better metal because it can redirect the force put into it ! But I believe it has an easier breaking point than Adamantium sense Thor's uncle the serpent (who's in the same league as Odin) got caps shield and snapped it like a twig .. All in all.. No ! Superman can not break Adamantium ! Can he dent it ? Sure ! Bend it ? Sure ! Can it cut him ? Yes ! Can he liquefy it ? No !

Adamantium >> Supernan.

Superman's heat vision is hotter than the sun, traditionally.

I highly doubt it could cut him. It definitely couldnt cut pre-52 Superman, whose durability could only really be bypassed by magic, knite, while exposed to Red Sun Radiation, or by a character significantly stronger than him.

Wow, lol. Hyperbole at it's best. (If "survived" means not melted. If it means not actually being totally disintegrated, then I might be able to believe that (for the sun - lava's not that hot comparatively)).

Doomsday at the time was one of the strongest beings in all comics outside of cosmics. It was also revealed in Hunter/Prey that he could evolve kryptonite poison on his claws mid-battle.

Adamantium with Krytponite lacing could cut him. Magic adamantium could as well.

@deaditegonzo: Oh yea? Was that just by word of another character that it was that hot? (That would be a good scan for the topic I just started on the Superman board, lol)

@dondave: all instances of adamantium breaking were put under basically what was a blanket retcon to be secondary adamantiun or some kind of alloy. And brevoort confirmed this around the time of fear itself so not long ago when someone asked about hulk ripping the adamantium net.
