Superman villains or Batman villains?

Is this really a contest ?

Batman all the way. Besides Lex Luthor, Superman's villains pale in comparison to Batman villains.

It's more of a personal question.

Batman villains are better, but I still prefer superman.

Superman doesn't have all that great of a rogues gallery. other than Lex and Braniac he doesn't have many other notable villains. Hopefully villains month will add some depth to the other villains in his rogues gallery.

Batman villains are consistently better. Superman has a fewer top-tier villains. But Superman does have his fair share of awesome villains (top 10 best rogue gallery).

I prefer Batman's. Other than Lex Luthor and Zod (I consider Darkseid a Justice League villain) Superman's villains aren't that great.

Batman. Besides Lex, Superman's villains aren't all that interesting.

Superman actually has a lot of awesome and underrated villains (I am in the process of creating a long blog about it actually). But when all is said and done? Batman's rogues rule supreme and always will.

@madnessfall: that's not really a fair way to compare lol. Darkseid is more of a Justice League and Luthor should be compared with Joker. both of them are the worst enemy of the respected heroes. Metallo vs Firefly isn't fair since Firefly isn't a top tier Batman villain while Metallo is around the top of Superman villains. Same with Bizarro and Man-Bat. Luthor vs Two-Face: Luthor is Superman's greatest enemy while Two-Face isn't, though he is top 5.

I'm not arguing that Superman villains aren't better. I believe Batman villains are better but your opinion is very understandable (Superman has a great rogues gallery). I'm just saying that your match-ups aren't very fair and are in favor of Supes.

Batman has Joker, Bane, Riddler, Mr. Freeze, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, Scarecrow, Two-Face, and Ra's al Ghul.

Superman villains have often been the imposing and powerful, but Batman's villains have so much depth and have been well written.

Grundy is a GL enemy. Darkseid is really a Justice league enemy. Lobo is his own guy, who has fought Superman many times.

I like both but i'd say i prefer Superman's villains slightly more then Batman's.

DC needs to take it up a notch. Show then that Superman has interesting villains as well. Superman TAS did it.

Joker is over rated yes he's epic but there's a few in the bunch(Comics) that is better than the joker.

Batman has one of the best Rogues Galleries in comics with Spider-man probably the only other character who has one equally as good and numerous.

I feel like Batman's villains are mostly gimmicks from the 60's. A small percentage of them pose an actual threat to him or anyone else. He is well above most of them in most stats. That said, Batman has two of my favorite villains in Harley and Ivy.

A lot of Superman's villains are capable of ruling worlds and some of them actually do. Outside of the few that are just nuisances, they all are legit worries.

The only hero who's rogue's gallery even comes close to Batman is Spider-Man. Superman had no chance.

Lex is the only good Superman villain period,Darkseid is not a Superman villain,Cyborg Superman and Mongul haven't been Superman villains in years(and for good reason),Doomsday sucks,Brainiac and Zod needs to get their versions fixed first(you dont see dozens of Two-faces and Jokers running around),Metallo,Parasite and Bizarro are nuisances at best and that's where the list ends.After this we have Z-listers like Conduit,Atomic Skull,Preus,Prankster,Reactron and Toyman whom no one cares about. Batman has better villains,more recognizable villains,more developed villains(as much as I dislike Riddler even he's seen more character development than Brainiac),better new villains(Hurt,Pyg,Nobody),greater variety of villains(an awful lot of Supes rogues are robots,evil Supermen and conquerors) and have female representation. It's really a no brainer.

i disagree with you.Doomsday doesnt sucks,Zod is an very good character.Being honest here i never quite liked Two-faces but yeah Joker is one of the mains but i rather Lex over him.Well actualy if nobody cared about toyman he wouldnt have been ripped off so lol.Yeah some superman villains are kinda similar to each other but the biggests ones are epic.Atomic Skull and Parasite are second zone and they're playing their roles very well.

Doomsday's only dimension is "big scary monster". He has nothing else going for him. Zod is a good character but pre-Flashpoint there were far too many disparate versions of him: Pocket Universe Zod, Return to Krypton Zod, For Tomorrow Zod, Pokolistan Zod, New Krypton Zod etc. Preus and Reactron are lazy rip-offs, the former is a racist Zod and the latter is Metallo with gold kryptonite instead of green. Maxima is the only female Superman villain with any real representation, and even she doesn't have much (and most of the time, she's not even a villain). The rest are nobodies like Silver Banshee, Livewire and Puzzler.

Agree with Brainiac and Zod, hopefully they'll get fixed in Villains month.

Darkseid's a New Gods villain. Doesn't count. Not to mention when he does appear in Superman comics, it's to be a jobber, thus making him a crappy villain anyway.

Batman's villains are better. Superman's are great, but Batman's are the greatest.

The real truth is that Batman only really has 3 villains and a crap load of copy cats with slight variations on the gimmicks

Batman because almost anyone can name 3-5 Batman villains without having picked up a comic book. I doubt you can get a random non comic fan to name 3 Superman villains.

The Bat-Villains are more memorable, but with them I feel that Batman ALWAYS has the upper-hand. With Superman villains, I tend to think "How will Superman get out of this one?"

The Bat-villains are better characters, but the Superman rogues are better villains for Superman than the Bat-rogues are for Batman.

Darkseid's first appearance was in 'Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen #134' in 1970.

As with many villains, of course he takes on various other heroes depending on the story-line, he is still undoubtedly mostly associated with Superman, and most, if not all, Darkseid stories involving Earth features Kal El as his main adversary.

Not true at all,the same could really be said for Flash and Spider-Man villains too,infact Spider-Man villains are far more guilty of this than Batman.
