Stormwatch &Demon Knights question - Gen. Discussion

I just started reading Stormwatch (so far I have read issues #1,13,&14) I'm really liking it, but should I also read Demon Knights to get the full story on Stormwatch? Also why does Jack Hawksmoor not wear any shoes and socks? I don't understand exactly what his powers are but I think he's a pretty cool guy.

@Catsnlynne:He doesn't wear shoe's or sock because they connect him to cities. Basically he get's his powers when he's in a city but I think he need physical contact and that's why he doesnt wear shoes. Demon Knights is the former name of Stormwatch, you dont have to read it but you can if you want to

@Catsnlynne: u don't really need to read The Demon Knights, however with Etrigan appearing in Stormwatch i think the stories may get more connected. and i m still wondering why do the shadow lords have command over Stormwatch, they are nowhere to be seen in Demon Knights
