Spider Man has just been ruined for me

I havent been into comics for too long so I was looking into Spiderman and saw that Gwen Stacy slept with the Goblin and why she killed her. This completely ruined my favorite Spidey story line and if I could go back in time and stop myself from reading it I would.

How did you guys feel when you found out Gwen cheated on Peter with the Goblin just cause she felt compassion and fisical attraction to him even though she loved Peter. I feel like I just got trolled by the writer of Sins Past.

I just ignore its existence, it doesn't do any harm if you don't think it exists as a storyline. Though JMS wrote some top Spider-Man stories e.g Happy Birthday, The Book of Ezekiel, Back in Black, he also wrote some of the worst too. Like this one.

@lvenger: Im glad you mention those. Im still new so I'll be buying those to read later. Im trying to read the best stories from my favorite characters and then move on to the regular issues and other characters.

That would be best, I just don't really acknowledge it at all. I think the writing was trying to maybe reinforce MJ, but you can't take away what Gwen meant to Spidey with bad storytelling.

Back in Black is a very good choice as is The Book of Ezekiel unless you don't like mysticism being injected into Spider-Man's origin.

It's one of those things best left ignored and forgotten. Like how Scott Summers left his wife and kid after he found out Jean Grey was alive, or how Johnny Storms was married and cheated on.

From what I remember, it only happened because - get this - Joe Quesada doesn't like the idea of Spider-Man getting older (he claimed having a grown son would make him too old).

Do what i do, ignore Spiderman until Joe Quesada dies, he is hated by people, ugly and fat, chances he will outlive you, are really small.

I started reading spiderman when amazing spiderman started again, but stopped the issue otto was still hanging out in his mind(I know it has to be delt with, but i don't want to read it)

I hated it when I read it but I just try to ignore it. I mean it will always be out there and it will exist but as long as I don't pay attention to it it doesn't do any harm and it's like it's some alternate storyline.

Worst, most offensive story in marvel comics history in my opinion.
