To tell you the truth,I liked Superman Returns a bit more than Spiderman 3. Though it seriously lacked in the action I wanted to see,it didn't disappoint in the areas Spiderman 3 did.
I think they are both equal.. Maybe Superman might be a bit better
Super-man was ok...compare to SM3, except for the kid and the Lois marriage, showing off his powers and not throwing a single punch in the whole movie etc..
But the actor, powers, the suit, Clark been a nerdy loser, kryptonite, Lex, Fortress of solitude, Jol-el, Lois been stubborn about a story, superman saving her butt all the time, etc was ok.
Is just that people expected more and seen him in action against a super powerful oponent.
The bad thing of Spidey is that they gave us too many mystakes and bad guys in too little time which cut on the knees the whole thing..

Not too mention the way they stopped Sandman was incredibly stupid, a sand titan taken down by a little board missle.... They just couldn't find out how to beat him and they just made him go down stupidly... And the worse mistake of all..

I loooooved Spiderman 3 I don't understand why everyone hated it other then then the emo swoop. The bits I saw of Superman made me want to yell at Kevin Spacey for selling out. Plus super man is gay.
Both are bad but I pick, superman for four reasons:
I stayed was at the theater until 12:40 just to get into the movie
My friend bought my ticket for Superman
Superman didn't have a tap dance scene
They may have both been bad but in the end Superman was at least trying to be a comic book movie, not a damn romantic comedy with a whiny woman beating superhero.

The script was pretty lame, but it's cinematography was beautiful. But then again I did see it in an IMAX.
The scene where Superman flies above the clouds to take in the Sun's rays was breath taking and sent a tingle down my spine...and on IMAX the vastness of the screen just made it even more spectacular.

"I actually liked both the movies. Not for the action or the script, but I just enjoyed it.But they better make a diffrent Superman movie where he actually fights someone. "
