Spawn: Where to Start

I started watching the Spawn T.V series and really like it. I want to start reading some of his comics. I don't know where to start. Can you tell me where to start and recommend some of his best comics?

Try the Spawn Origin Books. They're cheap, but there is also alot of them. Good Quality books though.

Man. I started Comics with Spawn when I was 7. Watched that entire series when I was 10. I jumped right into it really. It was issue 129. But as said, there are now Spawn Origin trades. Pretty good, IMO

I'd say start with the first one. The story is sort of complicated and can be confusing if you don't.

@jonEsherfey: This list basically:

You can skip the Youngblood stuff mentioned though.

I wouldn't say this for a lot of books but just start from the beginning. It's a really complex (and well written) story and it drives you crazy f you miss anything. Plus there were some good off shoots of the Spawn book in the early days to!

Buy the trades they are cheap. Spawn was an excellent series in the 90's.

Totally this.

Yeah your best bet is to start from the beginning. Spawn is unlike other comics like Batman or Spiderman. You can't really just jump in w/out knowing about what has happened in the past. I suggest getting all the trades. They are really reasonable on Amazon.com, that's where I get all my comic trades.

@Billy Batson: I don't necessarily disagree with you but why do you say I shouldn't get any Spawn? Do you have anything against him?
