I brought a copy of Amazing Spider-Man #700, so I could get it signed by Dan Slott at a comic convention I am going to. But now I am not so sure. I don't mind not getting it signed, I collect Amazing Spider-Man anyway. If you have an opinion, please explain.

I love getting comics and books signed by their creators.Despite making the switch to digital, I bought the RASL hardcover recently because Jeff Smith was doing a signing.

I say get your copy of Amazing Spider-Man 700 signed by Dan Slott. He's such a nice guy in person that you'll be happier for having met him. I speak from experience. My copy of ASM 700 is signed by him.

Interacting with creators and getting your comics signed/sketched is nice. Dunno why someone wouldn't like it.

Get two copies; one to be signed and one not signed. Technically signatures by artists, writers etc unless they're officially documented are nothing more than vandalism on the cover. But as a fan who doesn't want your favourites signature upon your favourite comic.

Get two and over time you will see which is worth more. But it is your comic :)

if you have the ability then make sure that you get a certificate of authenticity to go along with it...most cons that I've been to they have a place where you can get them

I personally don't care for proof of a signing. I wouldn't sell a comic I got signed; too important to me. Then again I would never buy a comic that was already signed. It doesn't feel the same... at all.
