Dragonball Z, Teen Titans, Justice League, Digimon, Spider-Man 90s (even though it hasn't aged too well). I never really cared for BTAS until I got into comics.
Shows that were better than Batman: The Animated Series
@ganon15: Those were the cartoons out of all of them that I thought were better than Batman: TAS although, it's hard to compare cartoons like Animaniacs and Tiny Toons to that because they are on a different category. Also I can't mention any anime because I'm not a fan of it.
The point is whatever cartoon you enjoyed more than BTAS, even if it's on a different category.
Batman TAS was a landmark in terms of Superhero television. It challenged the notion that kids cartoons had to be light and happy all the time. It was genuinely dark and dealt with dark issues.
Of course it's not the greatest show ever made, but don't undermine it's significance. Without it we might not even have a Justice League show..
But Justice League Unlimited is without a doubt the best. Every episode was great, and featuring the heroes that nobody knows was a terrific idea. When I was younger, this was the show that got me into comics, and made me realize there was more than just the trinity (Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman.) The little guys are important, too.
I don't see a point is comparing apples and oranges. It's like asking which is better; Aliens or National Lampoons Christmas Vacation. Completely different. There are HUNDREDS of better animated, better voice acted, better everything shows. It's not fair to compare them.
I would take JLU and season two of JL, and maybe young justice above BTAS.
BTAS was classic and probably one of the most influential cartoon shows, but when you take it by an episode by episode basis there is a lot of inconsistency. JLU was overall more consistent than BTAS, and by then the writers/cast/crew had been working together for a long time and had more chemistry
ATLA is by far the best animated series of all time. Artwork, characterisation, epic drama etc just superb.
JLU
Avatar TLA
Breaking Bad
One Piece
FMA
Rurouni Kenshin
Picked mostly shows in the same genre (great atmosphere & action).
@thecannon: Just letting you know JL ran for 2 seasons then it turned into JLU
Although not as a whole series, the best episodes from Superman: The Animated Series were far more enjoyable for me than the best episodes of Batman: The Animated Series. For example, the introductory Apokolipse arc, the Legacy arc, and The Main Man arc (absolutely hilarious) were arguably my favorite cartoon moments ever. And then there's the episode where Superman impersonated Batman (can't remember the episode name), which was just animated gold.
That said, both Justice League and Justice League: Unlimited completely outclass B:TAS imo. So did The New Batman/Superman Adventures, and that's probably because it felt like a real complete universe, rather than a corner, which is what I prefer.
Avatar: The Last Airbender is also more enjoyable for me, and certain parts of Legend of Korra as well (Korra often bleeds the enjoyment out of the series whenever she appears).
That's all I can think of atm, too many toons to filter through.

I gotta say I recently am re-watching Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood with my sister and have got to say that this show beats Batman for me. I was more engaged with all the characters. Batman characters were good but never quite to hit me as hard in the emotional aspect that Full Metal did. If anybody here has not watch it I highly recommend this one.
Batman Beyond.
Bump. Beware The Batman is a far superior show. It actually had arcs [Rather than loads of boring self contained stories and had a season long plot] and every episode besides Pyg and Toad's episodes [Mediocre] were fantastic. The villains were just as good as the classic rogues with some of these villains being better than their comic book counterparts [Humpty Dumpty, Magpie, Killer Croc] whilst others were simply good versions [Shiva, Manbat, Deathstroke, Ra's Al Ghul, Silver Monkey, Anarky] though some sucked [Pyg, Toad]. The fight scenes were great. The detective aspect was great too and the dynamic between Bruce, Alfred and Katana and some episodes stand as the best episodes I've ever seen in a comic cartoon.
Fall
Darkness
Games
Animal
Epitaph
Twist [Best episode of a superhero cartoon period]
Alone
Overall it's the best superhero cartoon. Beware is superior to TAS in all areas except voice acting and writing matters more than that.
@ganon15: baby looney toons
If we’re just talking western-made superhero animation, Batman Beyond, Justice League Unlimited and Young Justice. If we expand that to any western-made animation, Futurama and The Simpsons. If we include anime, Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Macross and One Piece. I don’t even know where to start with live-action. I found all of these shows more enjoyable, and therefore “better” for me. BTAS is still an excellent show, though.
ATLA and LOK really come to mind.
Samurai Jack (seasons 1-4) is definetly in the same tier of quality.
The Clone wars (Tartakovsky and Disney ones) are pretty amazing, especially later seasons.
Gravity Falls is pretty damn good too.
Maybe TMNT 2003 (seasons 1-5) is around that level, it really is quite sad that not a lot of people watched it.
avatar: the last airbender. for now, this is the best show i've ever seen.
