Should the ban on Mange Vs. Comic's be lifted (Voting Thread)

Manga vs Comics? No. If nobody wants to be civil about the debating on the subjects on the forum, like 99% of the threads created the ban doesn't need to be uplifted.

I don't want mange anywhere near my comics.

Sure their were a few bad eggs back then but having a debate between Manga and Comic's can be done.

It's possible, but the problem is that the few spoil the pot for all. If you get what I'm saying.

The entire point of Vs. battles are childish, I don't think we should add to that.

Yes we should lift the ban but only allow a few manga/anime threads be allowed. Over time, the mods should raise the number of threads allow

I personally say yes.

Manga, anime and that other crap should stay in anime vice, leave my comics alone

Anime is a blanket term for animation from Japan (and other countries around there; Taiwan, South Korea, etc.). Under that label they make every genre of cartoon, just as we have here.

It's the same with Manga. It's just comics from Japan. (you know, the country that sort of invented sequential art) And they actually have MORE genres of comics than we have names for in the west. And they sell more than western comics' biggest titles combined (over 3.5 billion a year for the industry, as opposed to less than 200 million)

I say yes, but it would result in Comic Book fanboys and Anime Fanboys offending each other! Then the people who like both just sit and suffer. Personally I do not like Anime in the least I have always liked Comics. Maybe they could make a new forum for it like "other" and when you enter you know what your gettign your self into. (P.S. I am sick so I didnt xplanin all of that correctly0

There's already a flame war developing over this in THIS VERY THREAD, so the answer is quite simply: no. Look, we can debate the difference between Western comics and Manga all day, but the fact remains is that this site focuses primarily on American comics. The problem with some manga fans is that they come on here and start these pointless flame wars just to rile people up because having their own forums to discuss this isn't enough apparently. I'd say the Mods made the right decision in banning these discussions if all they lead to is bickering.

I don't participate, so I won't enter my vote, but my opinion. Sure. I'm sure it seemed the logical course, and I've seen it happen not only here, but on several comic sites Battle forums, and highlighted the case of DBZ. But, flame wars and people being crude to each other actually happens everywhere, regardless of the topic or even whether there's one at all. Some subject matter get's higher notice, and that's perhaps due to the popularity of it. Say religion, which you'd find just as much scorn about in real life, or sports. Or music. Or of course, certain popular comic characters. Or any view really. The thing is it's not the subject that's actually the cause. It can't be, and any amount of logic simply stands against that being true. A subject is not an entity that does anything, it's just a thing. People cause flame wars, and people insult each other, and distrust one another. Not DBZ threads. So sure why not, give it a chance and rely on people to do what they naturally will, either treat each other with respect, or bicker as always regardless of the why and whose right or wrong. The presence or lack thereof of a topic about anime won't change whether any of that happens regardless, no more than holding an umbrella actually stops the rain from falling from the sky. Take that as you will.
