Should I start from beginning of a series or just catch up?

With the Marvel Now and New 52 relaunch, series are now smaller (at least compared to what they used to be). Due to this, should I start from beginning of a relaunched series and work my way towards the current issue/s? Should I just get the latest issues and try to figure out the important stuff in past issues as I go?

It probably depends on which series. I think I'd try and get the earlier issues as often as possible though.

@maccyd: Yea what QueenCorp15 said, it matters what series you want to get into. I can recommend Thor: God of Thunder and Batman (Snyder) to start (that is if you haven't read them). Thor will be on issue 10 but the first issues aren't hard to find. And as for Batman, you can start with "Death of the Family". It starts with issue 13 ( which may be a little pricey if you want 1st print) and the rest of the issues you should find at regular price. You could also start with Batman 21 Zero Year, with issue 22 recently released.

heres my recommendation. pick one series a month and get completely caught up on it. that way youll have a lot to read and you'll be getting caught up
