Shazam Officially Confirmed To Be A part of MOS Universe

The Rock was messing with us :D. Shazam/ Billy Batson and The Rock's Black Adam are officially apart of Shared DC Universe. :D Looks Like one day we will see one of the most Popular comic book fights of all time Superman vs. Shazam.

I wish we could see a fight between them but I doubt it. Unless fans really make a big deal to see it.

Apart and "a part" can totally make a difference. Anyways I'm happy that Captain will be part of the Pantheon of DC gods in the cinematic universe. Captain Marvel film will totally make magic a difference in the DCCU. A fight between supes and Black Adam might make me stumble becoZ of too much excitement.

One day, definitely. probably not until a while from now though, like in the 2020's

I get the feeling they might be leading upto an injustice league with Luthor in BvS, Black Adam in the Shazam movie, and the villains that'll come out of their future projects. But I think that might be in the next half of the JL movies, their phase 2. Phase 1 seems like it might be Braniac or Darkseid.

Sounds like they're backtracking after the backlash that he wouldn't be apart of the universe. It better be a fun movie though regardless if it's in the universe or not.

I highly doubt that. They wouldn't change the universe and their plans just to suit a few naysayers. Especially given that WB/DC have established they are not operating in that manner, if they were they'd have thrown out Affleck and Gadot, who received way more backlash.

@rogueshadow: Well it hasn't started filming and I think it was less nay sayers and more so seeing the light. They have the rock as one of their villains to make it separate would be stupid.

We don't know they ever intended to do that in the first place, the only thing that made us think it might be the case is the fact that New Line are producing it, which could be due to practical reasons. I think they must have this universe pretty well mapped out at this point.

The fact the Rock is in it and Del Toro's recent comments on JL: Dark being in the DCCU make me think they never intended them to be separate.

Either way, it will be really interesting to see how the world established in MoS melds with characters like Shazam and Swamp Thing.

It's a lot easier to do in the MCU due to how comparably light hearted it is.

I wonder if the change is because of Justice Leagues Dark, like they were waiting on that to decde on whether or not to introduce magic into the main dccu.

This sucks. The character works better in his own universe instead of a shared one, not to mention it should have a brighter tone.

You can have a Brighter tone. Why does every automatically think the DC Universe is going to be incredibly Dark Universe where all the characters are just mirrors of Batman? Are people making this assumption based of Man of Steel which wasn't a really Dark movie just a serious one.

He's a weird one. First he declares the DCCU dead to him after MoS, but as soon as he hears news that he likes he's back on the hype train.

Yea already figured as much.

I was cool either way really. I'm just happy we're getting a Capt. Marvel/SHAZAM movie in the first place. Him being part of their movie-verse makes sense. It leaves the door open for interaction with Superman, Wondy etc.
