Who in a comic book movie who died did you guys find the saddest? The death of The Penguin in Batman Returns did it for me. Danny Elfman's sad music, the dark atmosphere and the icing on top...the penguins giving oswald the watery funeral :'(

Jonathan Kent on Superman (1978).
R.I.P. Pa Kent
Charles Xavier in X-Men: The Last Stand
The penguin form Batman Returns that accidentally blew himself up. Not THEE Penguin, but an actual penguin.

I question whether she's truly dead.
She survived a flood
Doubt a bunch of claws would take her out.
Good point. What about Green Goblin in Spider-man?
That was probably sad due to the impact it had on his son, not because of the character itself.

No, it was sad for the character. All he wanted to do was kill Spider-man, and the world wouldn't even let him do that.

Because he's a villain?
Cap's "death" at the end of First Avenger. The convo between Steve and Peggy got to me.
Kick-Ass Big Daddys death was sad even though it was fun to see Nick Cage die... slowly

Probably cause Spider Man's the MAIN CHARACTER!
How many super hero movies have you seen where the CHARACTER THE STORY REVOLVES AROUND GETS KILLED IN THE END?!
Watchmen

"I will not die a monster!"
Doctor Octopus' last words before the fusion device and the entire barge collapses on him
@TheCheeseStabber: It was indeed emotional and well-played out.
darwin x-men first class
hank pym in the avengers animated movie i was surprised he died.
Cyclops' in the The Last Stand (X-Men) but I'm using the word "sad" in a more contemporary, derisive sense.
Either Jonathan Kent's death on Smallville, or Rorschach's death in Watchmen.

Sin City - Hartigan:(
X3- Prof X and Jean... both very very sad :'(
Smallville- Johnathan Kent
Well if you're going to include T.V shows then I choose Nicki Sanders from Heroes. :P

Rachel Dawes in The Dark Knight.
Joker in Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker (the Joker himself dying wasn't too sad, but the whole Tim Drake breakdown part gets to me every time).
1. Rorschach's death
2. Agent Coulson's death
3. Big Daddy in Kick-Ass, for making me actually sad when Nick Cage died in a film.
