Known as the most twisted character in Twisted Metal, Needles Kane is the very embodiment of hate and destruction on an epic scale—A serial killer who uses a ice cream truck and demented clown theme to perform mass homicide to the highest degree. He is truly evil, and thinks nothing of anything but the joy and desire of death and chaos.

Psychological Profile

Unfortunately we have never been able to obtain a satisfactory glance into the psyche of Needles Kane (herein referred to as “Sweet Tooth”). Attempts have indeed been made to analyze him, but results proved fatal as he killed our first analyst and critically injured the next one. The third was driven mad by his inability to come to a satisfying analysis and subsequently took his own life.

Patient History

Sweet Tooth was once Marcus Kane, a middle-aged man who lived with his wife and three children and worked as an ice cream man. However Marcus constantly felt a burning emptiness within him that eventually formed into a dark split personality, known as Needles. This other personality wore away at him until he finally snapped, carving his clown mask and letting the other personality take over to become Sweet Tooth. The first time he killed someone he didn't even flinch, doing so as skillfully as a trained surgeon and without regrets. After the first one, he quickly developed an insatiable thirst for blood; it was obvious that he had found his calling in life. Sometimes his victims were meticulously hunted down, but most were randomly chosen and just unlucky to have crossed his path. When he was finally caught after his abundant murders, he was to be executed via electric chair usage. The Preacher cursed Needles Kane, burdening him forever with the flames of Hell, as well as enhancing his physical abilities.

Sweet Tooth carries a wide assortment of tools for committing murder. He loves anything and everything that can be used to spill blood from his victims. Those pants of his must have big pockets.

II.) Sweet Vehicles

1) "Sweet Tooth" the Ice Cream Truck

Needles Kane has always driven an armored ice cream truck that can be declared as a one man army in a world war. "Sweet Tooth" is an old-fashioned ice cream truck (Chevrolet Step Van) with pink polka dots patterning its white-painted chassis, and a trademark macabre clown head atop the roof for decoration. Its appearance makes it easy to lure his most innocent victims. And more often than not, the freezer is used to store other 'items' besides frozen treats. The ice cream truck favors its power/armor of a tank rather than speed/handling.

Twin Gatling Guns	The armored truck is equipped with two machine guns on the sides for double-action rapid fire.
Missile Launchers	Two missile launchers pop out of mechanical sliding windows on both sides, which normally act as serving hatches for ice cream sales.
Napalm Cones	The truck fires homing pink ice cream cone missiles that wave in mid-air and are more accurate from longer ranges.
Laughing Ghost	The clown head can launch off the truck and will pass through walls (like a ghost) to reach its target.
Sweet Kamikaze	When activated, Sweet Tooth's vehicle will transform into a towering contraption, setting numerous hidden missile racks to firing position before firing its payload.

1.5) "Sweet Toothimus Prime"

The secondary special weapon is for Sweet Tooth the Ice Cream Truck to transform into a bipedal mecha robot AKA "Sweet Bot". It has the abilities to fly, slam down on the ground to send out a shockwave, and throw its clown head like a grenade. This vehicle also has incredible ramming power when it turbo-charges into opponents with the 'Sixaxis Slam', being able to even inflict heavy ram damage on Darkside. Its extra mass and heightened stats are due to it being a transforming mecha.

Clown Air	Sweet Bot is equipped with a large jet pack with extreme rocket power, enough to support the massive robot for steady flight.
Sweet Shred	The mecha robot has one rotating multi-barrel gatling gun attached to its left arm.
Laughing Death	This attack is similar to its previous "Laughing Ghost" version. Sweet Bot detaches his head and throws it like a hand grenade at his target.
Sweet Slam	Sweet Bot can propel downwards and punch the ground, creating a shockwave that damages and knocks away enemies.

2) "Dark Tooth"

Dark Tooth is basically an enlarged and more heavily-armored Sweet Tooth. It is a massive ice cream truck (the size of a large house), at least 6 times the size of Sweet Tooth, and can destroy full-healthy small cars by simply running them over. The monster truck's image is black with pink polka dots, and includes a massive demonic-looking clown head in Sweet Tooth's likeness. This is essentially a large opening-and-closing 'mouth' at the front of the truck, which is Dark Tooth's special weapon.

Spiked Chomper	The monster truck has a large spiked chomping mechanism at the front, which can crush and devour through anything in Dark Tooth's path.
Napalm Cones	Dark Tooth uses dual-homing Napalm Cone missiles for its machine guns, in place of regular bullets. As such it is capable of making short work of a 15k Tanker Truck.
Clown Ricochet Bombs	The truck can fire oversized bombs (with clown faces) that bounce off of walls and explode upon hitting its target.
Flaming Headbutt	Dark Tooth can catapult its explosive flaming head forward in the direction of its target.

3) "Tower Tooth"

Tower Tooth is basically four Ice Cream Trucks (attached to two tank treads) with a mechanical clown head on top, and underneath a framework structure that connects the bottom half to the top, which is a full-sized ice cream store. Atop the store building is a very humongous, flaming, and demonic clown head (that too resembles Sweet Tooth). Being given the name Tower Tooth, it is the tallest vehicle of all the Twisted Metal series.

Flamethrower	The bottom mechanical clown head rotates 360° and shoots a flamethrower from its mouth, which will follow the target.
Napalm Cones	The launchers at the bottom can fire a rapid fusillade of a dozen homing Napalm Cone missiles.
Lightning Strike	The top half of Tower Tooth releases a shocking omni-directional tazer that locks onto a vehicle and inflicts damage.

4) "Gold Tooth"

Gold Tooth is just the gold-plated version of the original ice cream truck, with slightly stronger stats. The vehicle's weapons and design remain unchanged from the original, besides a new shiny gold finish.

III.) Henchmen / Clown Gang

"The Clowns" is the name of a gang led by Sweet Tooth. They follow Sweet Tooth with a cult-like devotion, going so far as to build a giant armed circus tent on wheels in his honor. It is unknown how Sweet Tooth was able to conjure this group of numerous followers. However, as stated by Calypso, they were each dedicated to serving Sweet Tooth, as they believed he was a 'god' and 'king'.

The Carnival of Carnage

Sweet Tooth's "Carnival of Carnage" is a massive memorial built in his honor; When Needles Kane died, the Clowns became obsessed with preserving his memory of him alive and believed he would rise, stronger and madder than before. Together they built a thematically carnivalesque and brutal mobile fortress, outfitted with various advanced technologies (including sophisticated weapons, dangerous self-supporting traps, and an electric force field).

@granitesoldier: Sadly no. His bloody design in Black was pretty cool, but it couldn't top his Devil look in Twisted Metal 2. The new game focuses on Sweet Tooth, Dollface, Mr. Grimm, and the Preacher.

1. In Twisted Metal 4, Sweet Tooth had overthrown Calypso and returned as the master of the Twisted Metal tournament.
2. In Twisted Metal: Head-On, Sweet Tooth used his Wish to once again overthrow Calypso and take over the Twisted Metal tournament.

I'm bumping this thread because of the Death Battle coming up between him and Joker. It's a very well put together thread.

But it should be noted that everything in Twisted Metal is just apart of Sweet Tooth's imagination. Which could have a great impact on what Sweet Tooth can and cannot actually do. Marcus Kane revealed this through multiple loading screens but in code. I got this information from a Reddit thread.

Here are some of the things Marcus said (Marcus is the sane part of Needles):

"When the code is translated (simple 1 = A, 2 = B, etc.), the messages look like this:

1. I do not think this is real.

2. I must speak in code or he will discover me.

3. We are trapped in his head.

4. This is how he sees the world, how Sweet Tooth sees his life. It is not real.

5. All of us are trapped in his head.

6. I miss the old colorful world.

7. We will return to our world one day.

8. In the real world my name is Marcus Kane."
