Report: Chris Pine May Be In Talks to Co-Star in Upcoming Wonder Woman Film

Chris Pine may be in-negotiations to play the part of Steve Trevor in the upcoming Wonder Woman film, which already stars Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. According to Variety, Pine's character of Steve Trevor will be the love interest of the origin story. At this point in time, Warner Bros. has yet to comment on this.

Patty Jenkins will be directing the film, written by Jason Fuchs, which is set to come out in 2017.

In the comics, Steve Trevor was a military liaison to Wonder Woman, in the New 52, and to the Justice League of America. He was also the leader A.R.G.U.S. While the New 52 version was never romantically involved with Wonder Woman because she spent her time with Superman, in the classic comics, love was a big part of their story. Steve Trevor first debuted in ALL-STAR COMICS #8, back in 1941.

Wonder Woman is expected to release in 2017.

I'm more open to him as Trevor than Jordan.

He looks the part in my opinion and I've only seen him in the Star Trek reboot.

Don't waste Chris Pine on Steve Trevor. I hope it's a trick and that WB are going to cast him as Hal Jordan or something and introduce him first in the WW solo.

He would be a great Steve Trevor.

Trevor obviously isn't Jordan, but he can still show up in plenty of movies Wonder Woman, Justice League and/or Suicide Squad sequel.

I thought they were going for serious and grim. Pine is more of a semi-comedy actor right?!

Awesome, I've enjoyed all of his stuff to date. He'd be a perfect Steve Trevor!

@pelykan: WB president already said it depends what film it is. The tone will be typical DC but characters like Shazam and Flash will still have some comedy in it.

Cool. I'd rather see him as Steve than Hal. If they use Hal I think he should be closer to Ezra Miller's age.

@pelykan: Yes, and Michael Keaton turned the 1989 Batman into a slapstick comedy. Some actors are able to play more than one type of role.

Seems like kind of a waste unless he's gonna be really active in the DCCU.

@feartheliving: I think he will be, every league member so far has been meta human so he'll be one of the more human character.

I wanted him as Hal, but honestly, I'll take him in whatever DC property I can get him.

I'm against it because I don't want them to cast an actor that will overshadow Wondy. They should get an unknown or less-known actor.

Chris Pine is an actor I continually think is better than the roles he takes.

No. He could do waaaay better. He deserves a bigger and better character. I want John stewart, but Pine would make a good Hal Jordan. Him being regulated to Trevor, a somewhat uninteresting love interest, would be a waste of his star power and talents

I'm good with it, as long as he has a big role. If Trevor has a small role, Pine's skill and star power can be put to better use.

I think he'll play a larger part. I'm assuming that A.R.G.U.S will be to the DCCU like S.H.I.E.L.D is to the MCU, so I'm guessing this Steve will be a mix of the old soldier love interest and the New 52 A.R.G.U.S man. Makes sense since A.R.G.U.S will be in Suicide Squad with Viola Davis as Amanda Waller.

No, it's been confirmed back in October ever since WB released the future DCCU films

I'm pretty sure Amy Adams is a more well known name than Henry Cavill pre MoS yet I'm not so sure Adams overshadowed Superman in said movie. Just saying.

I think Pine will be good s Trevor, however like a few others I really liked the idea of him being Hal Jordan.

I wonder what role Eastwood has then.

Less known actor in the lead and more known support is the way to go imo.

I like this, I think he could bring a lot of charm and likeability to the role.

I also hope this means no Superman/Wonder Woman.
