Recommend Me Some Vertigo

There's a Cyber Monday sale on for Vertigo title and I thought I'd stock up on some Vertigo. What would people recommend from the range and why? (Just remember that I can only get the first volumes of a series)

I can only get 4ish volumes, though.

Sandman is fantastic. It should be your first. Y is a close second for me.

I've read Preacher which I enjoyed, planning on starting Y the Last Man, 100 Bullets, Sandman, Hellblazer, Scalped & I also heard good things about DMZ.
