Real-Life Research Being Conducted into Superpowers?
Is this sight legitimate? I dunno. Are the government making superhumans? Yes.
Ever heard of D.A.R.P.A? They're working on a super soldier program. This is kinda the wacky mad scientist wing. They have invented and made a lot of useful things. Some practical. Some not so practical. One minute they're trying to make robot animals to tread through vietnam, the next D.A.R.P.A is inventing the internet. Yes you heard me right. This organization according to many sources you can google right now. Invented the internet, so the government, especially the pentagon has a lot trust and a lot of funding in them.
Onto the super soldiers? When are we going to see someone shoot laser beams from their eyes? Well, not in your lifetime most likely. You need to be thinking less X-Men and more Captain America. Only with some extra freaky s***.
Here is how they plan on possibly doing. Gene engineering. They'll use some retrovirus implanted with desirable DNA to alter your DNA. Not perfected now, because well, when your cells reproduce, they still produce the old DNA, your body's ordinary DNA. And so when that cell with altered DNA disappears, the DNA it carried disappears too. This also tends to sometimes cause cancer. But gene engineering can and will improve. The above flaw does not apply to humans when in the fecal staged of development.
Onto the enhancements. Already a lot of things are said to be possible. What they wish to do is turn our humans soldiers into Captain America Terminator killing machines. Some of these enhancements mirror this. The future soldier is predicted to be able to run at 40-45 Miles per hour. I'm not kidding. 2 miles per hour short of captain America. Able to run a mile in 1 minute and 70 seconds just like he can. And they will be able to hold this pace for hours. They plan for soldiers to take drugs that render them incapable of feeling fear and making them able to function at peak capacity for up to 5 days on end.
They'll mostly use animal abilities. They'll do this by changing the quality of our muscles and nerves to match that of cheetahs/gorillas. Allowing us to exert ourselves more. Run faster and be stronger. Able to bench press captain america weights or even more. Some people even think that the right adjustments we will probably have gorilla like strength and be able to tear people arms out like this is mortal combat and bench 2 tons. To fuel ourselves better then any natural animal, our metabolic efficiency will be drastically increased through essentially bioengineering. We will have lower wolverine/deadpool deadpool healing factors, able to regenerate limbs like lizards in a rather short period of time. Pain will be diminished. Will be feel pain but not agony after it. Soldiers will be able to eat grass like cows to fuel themselves. Increased reflexes by increasing conductivity of the nervous system and various cognitive drugs to increase intelligence and creativity. A lot of animal abilities are within our grasp.
Not every animal ability you see is possible. Bugs have radiation resistance more because of their size. Human are not going to fly because our shape is crappy for flying and we would need a ridiculous wingspan, to big for us to move enough for us to fly. Square cube law would mean if we tried to make somebody fifty feet tall or something ridiculous like that, they would not bee able move. Physics will stand in our way.
But yeah. We'll have super soldiers and superhumans. Won't be like the comics though. Because it won't be random. It will be made an engineered. There will discrimination because in many aspects they will be superior to us "normal" people. And the people who have it that aren't some elite special ops soldiers are going to be filthy f***ing rich. There will be a bigger gap between the rich and the poor. Their superior abilities will make them better suited for several jobs. D.A.R.P.A will consider it a success when they Olympics ban everything they do.
If you volunteer for this and actually manage to get it, I am 90% sure they will own you. There will be no leaving. And they won't make some giant plastic robot to fight and contain these people. Their just going to put a micro bomb in your head and if you don't do what they say, they send a signal with a passcode of some sort probably and boom. Your dead. Government doesn't have to play fair and give you any type of chance to escape.
People probably think I'm some sort of conspiracist nut or some secret agent trying to warn everyone because they think I'm in with the government or something. I'm not. How did I find out about this then? Hacked secret files? Interrogated somebody?

More then likely however, we're likely to see Iron man for most of our soldiers who dont want to be owned by the man. Think Elysium, Edge of Tomorrow or Call of Duty Advanced Warfare
It's not that they don't want this public. People just don't know. Comic book peak human seems rather close. About 2 decades.
If we live for 500 years, we will likely be leaps and bounds above Halo in many if not all areas. Especially in warfare.
