In most of the battle threads there is always obscure discussion of where each Jedi and Sith rank in there own "tiers." I decided it's time to actually try and create that list as a reference tool.

Originally we used Nick Gillard's system as basis but now we are going a bit different, considering there are some other even higher Force users.

So here is my list. Keep in mind I'm observing all these folks at their primes.

@silentbat: Shaak probably should be lower. Also... Krayt at 10? Nick Gillard's ranks are in relation to combat skill, and in that area, Krayt was not impressive at all, let alone top-tier. Krayt's knowledge of esoteric powers and decent feats of Force potency are his only impressive factors, aside from his durability and possibly speed. Other areas weren't very noticeable.

Also, Nick Gillard said Yoda was a nine, not a ten, in combat skill, at least. Sidious was also a nine, to memory.

You're also overrating Kas'im, Exar Kun and probably Bane as well. Also, the Force user protagonists of TOR should be around. Nihilus shouldn't be ten. He is powerful in some ways, but he is also not very powerful in others. I refrain from ranking him entirely for that reason. Mace should be an eight. His feats are only slightly superior to characters like Obi-Wan. He is a tier 9 in terms of skill, but in other areas he isn't as high.

You also have no post-RotJ Jedi, aside from Luke and Leia (I assume you received knowledge on the latter from our CaV). Jaina, Kyp, Mara, Corran Horn and Kyle and many more should all be up here, along with Darth Caedus/Jacen Solo, who should also be a tier 10, or at least a tier 9 (I'd still go for ten if you place Yoda there).

Also... Nejaa Halcyon should be here as well. Probably tier 8.

@silentbat: I do believe Qui-Gon and Malak should be a tier higher. Also, you put Traya and Kreia as separate characters. They're the same.

@erkan12 I know we'll have some folks to debate if Mace Windu is top tier. I, for one, think he should not be up there because he has not performed top tier levels consistently.

I know this will take a while to get through and get right but it should be fun getting to a more complete list :-D

@silentbat: Where did I say anything about Meetra Surik? I don't think you did put her, though.

I'd really say Kas'im deserves to be a 6 or 7, really. Not that impressive. He keeps getting wanked because of some level of lightsaber form mastery he achieved. Not a proper substitute for feats.

Satele should be an eight because she's unimpressive a combatant.

@silentbat: Also, I didn't debate for Nihilus to be lowered. I said I preferred it if he wasn't ranked at all.

@silentbat: Darth Caedus needs to be in Tier 10, and Nihilus really doesn't deserve to be there. Plo Koon is on Mace's level, so he should be in the same tier. I understand why you put him where you did though, and won't hold it against you if you decide not to move him. Also, be cautious of listening to Erkan, as he's cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs when it comes to Star Wars.

Oh, and Plagueis should be in Tier 10 as well.

@shootingnova: Would you agree that Plagueis should be in 10? Also, how do you feel about Starkiller being in 9? I really Don't think he should be there, but I'm almost positive that's just my bias towards Marek talking...

@jaken7: Starkiller, as the clone, is very powerful. He well transcends Plagueis in telekinesis. But he's a ridiculous character who was rendered non-canon even before the split between the EU and the rest, and his dueling skills are appalling.

Plagueis might be a ten, but his lack of skill feats somewhat holds him back.

@shootingnova: Hmm. I suppose, but everything he did show would imply placement in that tier. Lack of any significant skill showings certainly is an issue though. Heh. Let's put him in Tier 9.5. Problem solved.

@silentbat: I'd really request Krayt to be 8. His skill feats are abysmal.

Agreed about Windu and Koon. That's why I specifically said that they should be in the same tier, as Koon is on Mace's level. Not necessarily that Koon should be moved up.

@jaken7: Yes. Not too impressive. It's just his one famous ability.

@shootingnova: Read the thread. Very interesting stuff. Didn't know he was capable of Alter Environment. Unfortunately, he has virtually no dueling or combat feats. I'd still place him at around tier 8 though.

On second thought, 7 might be slightly more appropriate.

@jaken7: Probably 7 at best.

@shootingnova: Heh. Glad I put that edit in. I'd have to agree. Just came to that conclusion based on who else is in that tier. I think Sion fits in well at 7.

@silentbat: If Luminara and Bastila are 7s, then Aayla should be too. She's not the most impressive of Jedi, but she's still a capable mid-tier duelist. A step above Ahsoka for certain.

@jaken7: Yeah. Vos could be eight.

@shootingnova: Probably, I just don't like Quinlan. xD

Githany's not that impressive, really.

Kun should be higher IMO, and if you have Katarn in Tier 8 you could place Jaden there as well I think.

I strongly disagree with Kun being any higher than 8. All of his feats are don't indicate that class, unfortunately.

I did forget Jaden Korr, though.

Exar Kun should be higher up Tier 9 at least

@shootingnova: Fair enough. Mace is in Tier 9 and I always thought Kun and Mace were about equal.

@zaied: I would put Mace in 8.

Why are Ven Zallow and Cin Drallig here?

I mean yeah Zallow showed some fight against Malgus, but that's pretty much it, unless he's been expanded on past wise as of late.

Cin Drallig...all he's got going for him was that he is a Jedi Battlemaster and was highly regarded by Dooku. Well that and some sources do label him as a master duelist and so forth.

I'd prob put Cin with Zallow if they gotta be here, but neither of em have really shown anything.

Ehh. This tier system is all wrong. I don't know where I should start...

Ok did some major updates to the list, especially with Tier 10 being raised. @intrepid37 made a good suggestions of Abeloth and The Ones being up there.

@dccomicsrule2011 Start a tier at a time. Don't look at it all at once, that'd be overwhelming. Take it piece by piece. Or look at it character by character and build from there.

True, they are stronger. However, since you asked this as ''Jedi & Sith'' they are not belong to this list.

Well, you did call it Jedi & Sith, not Force users. In that case, we would include entities, but I would refrain from posting the Bedlam Spirits solely because of their lack of meshing with the current EU.

Also, I disagree with Traya being lowered. Her combative skills aren't much to look at, but her power feats are some of the best in the EU.

It's extremely difficult to compare both skill and power at once. It really doesn't work that way. It's best if you make a list for power, and one for skill.

And at this rate, again, Mace doesn't compete with some of the other characters like Caedus or Plagueis. So again, he should be in Obi-Wan's class.

Also, I would put Gethzerion at least where Talzin is. Joruus C'baoth should be about a tier 8, Satele Shan a tier 7, and Jorus C'baoth a tier 6 (simply by lack of skill feats).

Also, Caedus should be in Yoda's tier. Not sure if Yoda should be in the same tier as the other two, to be honest. NJO/Legacy Luke, minus inconsistencies, and DE Palpatine, are significantly ahead of Yoda in power and similar areas. Skill is closer, but still... Yoda would have to be at the bottom of the tier, and Luke and Palpatine at the top, in that case. Caedus should also be in the bottom of that tier.

Agreed about Windu and Koon. That's why I specifically said that they should be in the same tier, as Koon is on Mace's level. Not necessarily that Koon should be moved up.

@shootingnova: Read the thread. Very interesting stuff. Didn't know he was capable of Alter Environment. Unfortunately, he has virtually no dueling or combat feats. I'd still place him at around tier 8 though.

On second thought, 7 might be slightly more appropriate.

@silentbat: If Luminara and Bastila are 7s, then Aayla should be too. She's not the most impressive of Jedi, but she's still a capable mid-tier duelist. A step above Ahsoka for certain.

Kun should be higher IMO, and if you have Katarn in Tier 8 you could place Jaden there as well I think.

@shootingnova: Fair enough. Mace is in Tier 9 and I always thought Kun and Mace were about equal.

Tier 8 is a good spot for Jaden. His force abilities were incredibly versatile and his progression in both sides of the force was impressive considering his limited experience.

Why are Ven Zallow and Cin Drallig here?

I mean yeah Zallow showed some fight against Malgus, but that's pretty much it, unless he's been expanded on past wise as of late.

Cin Drallig...all he's got going for him was that he is a Jedi Battlemaster and was highly regarded by Dooku. Well that and some sources do label him as a master duelist and so forth.

I'd prob put Cin with Zallow if they gotta be here, but neither of em have really shown anything.

Ok did some major updates to the list, especially with Tier 10 being raised. @intrepid37 made a good suggestions of Abeloth and The Ones being up there.

@dccomicsrule2011 Start a tier at a time. Don't look at it all at once, that'd be overwhelming. Take it piece by piece. Or look at it character by character and build from there.

I had strange feeling that Anakin, Leia and Luke were suppose to replace the Father, Daughter and Son. Well that's just me

In FotJ, the novel descriptions indicate that Abeloth wanted a new family of the Ones, where she would be the Mother, and Ben Skywalker and Vestara Khai the Son and Daughter, only this time, the Mother wanted chaos instead of balance, the Son was light-sided, and the Daughter was dark-sided. Essentially a reversal of the actual Ones family. Needless to say that never happened, but it was both interesting and stupid at the same time.
