question bout comic annuals

so i just got into marvel and dc comics,so im reading amazing spiderman, do the annuals tie into the story or can i read them in any order.

Usually their a seperate story

For Marvel, they usually seem to be stand alone stories. For DC, they usually tie into current or upcoming arcs.
