How is Hal still a Green Lantern? If his ring is made by Sinestro's ring, and either he doesn't have it or it just isn't green anymore, how would the ring still exist?

the ring isn't a construct..it's just like the rings that Kyle's ring was able to make only Sinestro is able to set the rules for the ring

Sinestro didnt lose the Green Lantern ring. Check it out, in the end when he breaks free of the Indigo Light, he is wearing the Green Lantern outfit/armour, which means he HAD the ring. So, even if Hal's ring needed Sinestro's to function, he never lost that link because it was always there, just subjugated by the Indigo one.

I think it also has to do with what Sinestro said about being kind of a ring on it's own, that he created, not really a construct.

AND Hal did steal will energy from Black Hand so he had some back up energy to run the ring

The two posts above me got it right. He didn't create a ring construct, he constructed a ring.
