Punisher burned his own family? What?!

I just finished Punisher: In the Blood series. (I know. A little too late.) And I haven't read the Hood saga completely yet. But from what I've read over the net and in comics I got to know Punisher burns his own family. I was like "what?" so can anyone clear up why exactly he did so? Cuz coming back from dead isn't that a bad thing in the comics. So many come back and we are okay with them being around. So when Frank kills them is it because they are possessed by some evil or he just wants an excuse to keep killing? It would have made sense if they were killed by someone else.

So please someone explain what and the why?

I haven't read it but from what I've been told, he believed it really wasn't his family. We as the reader can't be sure if it was or not his actual family revived or imposters, but he believed so, hence why he killed them

He never believed that it was actually his family, but the fact is that the Hood ressurected Microchip and he seemed alright. Seeing Frank burning his family plus microchip son it was a little bit disturbing imo
