Tired of the "big 2" publisher's antics? Y'know events, crossovers, bad creative team changes, cancellations & ect. Wanna let your money talk? Personally I would like to see the comic giants act more like the indy presses. So I'm thinking of adjusting my buying habits. Given the following criteria which books would you put on your pull list...

15 Books Overall

3 books by Marvel - Preferable a 2.99 book that is not prone to be involved in Marvel events.

3 books by DC - Preferable a solid creative team that isn't tied to Justice League, Bat, or Lantern events.

3 books by Image - Preferable a book that is released on a regular basis.

3 books by another Indy press (Oni, Dark Horse, IDW, Dynamite, Valiant, Avatar or ect) - Regularly released book.

2 wildcard books by any publisher without any criteria.

--------------------------------------------------

Genre Criteria

At least 2 Sci-fi, 1 Horror, and 1 positive female role model book.

Thoughts?

I'm thinking something like this...

3 books by Marvel - Hawkeye, Young Avengers, Wolverine Max

3 books by DC - Batwoman, Animal Man, Astro City

3 books by Image - Nowhere Men, Jupiter's Legacy, Lazarus

3 books by another Indy press - The Strangers (Oni Press), Rachel Rising (Abstract), X (Dark Horse)

2 wildcard books - All New X-Men, X-Men

----------------------------

Since Nowhere Men and Jupiter's Legacy are not regular I could probably sneak in a few books like Ten Grand and Collider.

A little of both. I'm working out my ever eternal pull-list issues. Y'know, too mainstream, too boring, too much feeling like I need to read 6 books to get the whole story. Plus I wanna see what everyone else is reading or would read if put in the same situation.

I'm surprised to see so much Wonder Woman love and no Walking Dead mentions.

Unwritten sounds interesting. The only reason I have checked it out is because I know I'd be 45+ issues behind. Maybe I start picking up the trades. I'm assuming it is associated with Fables and Fairest. I haven't read those either.

1 book by Marvel - only Marvel product I am interested in is Savage Wolverine and that is only because Cho is on the art.

1 book by DC - Constantine is the only title I would spend money on right now.

3 books by Image - The Walking Dead, The Activity, Clone,

3 books by another Indy press- The Massive, Conan the Barbarian, Crossed:Badlands

2 wildcard books- Ferals, Dan the Unharmable

5 other books- Red Team (limited), Last of Us: American Dreams (limited), Whispers (limited), Blackacre (limited), Jericho Season 4 (limited)

clearly I prefer independent publishers and limited series.

@kuonphobos: I'm not going to lie. I had to look up a few of those books. Well at least the Avatar ones. I'll probably check out Last of Us. So thanks for mentioning it.

@knighthood:

Alright.

Nice to see you getting Astro City.

I used to like the Walking Dead but with over 100 issues, there hasn't been any progression so meh.

The Unwritten is superior to Fables and isn't tied with Fables/Fairest, though The Unwritten is having a small crossover with Fables in issue #50 but it's only happening in the pages of The Unwritten. They've released seven trades so far and you could almost catch up with that way.

3 books by Marvel - Hawkeye, Deadpool, Indestructible Hulk

3 books by DC - The Flash, All-Star Western, Batman (Couldn't resist. Honestly though, you could read every New 52 issue that's come out so far without needing to buy another book. That's more than Aquaman or most other DC titles can say).

3 books by Image - Chew, Invincible, Fatale

3 books by another Indy press - Shadowman, X-O Manowar, Conan the Barbarian

2 wildcard books - Fantastic Four and FF.
