Proof Superman did not Destroy the Cty in MOS

there has sadly been a lot of exaggeration and misinterpretation of the final fight between superman & zod. people claiming superman destroyed the city and such crap.

so here is a walk thru of the final fight punch by punch, pointing out exactly what damage was done and who was at fault.

before the fight superman crashes the scout ship into the city, SUPERMAN'S FAULT, but he had no idea where it would land and he had to stop it or zod would have shot down the plane with lois and the only way for them to destroy zod's main ship.

firstly sups & zod tackle each other on open ground. shockwaves go thru the flat landscape.

next the 2 go flying into the corner of a already very damaged building, it is unclear if superman is slamming zod into it or he is being thrown into it. UNCLEAR RESPONSIBILITY

next we see superman has been sent flying thru some windows ZOD'S FAULT

next Zod cuts the building in half with his eye beams, ZOD'S FAULT

superman barely is able to fly out, the force of him propelling himself out of the building is too much, and he is unable to stop himself from crashing into bottom floor of a parking garage. SUPERMAN PHYSICALLY AT FAULT BUT NOT INTENTIONALLY

zod kicks a gasoline tanker at superman which he dodges and it explodes taking out the rest of the parking garage ZOD'S FAULT, with superman being... negligent-ish for allowing it to crash into the building.

he immediate realizes his mistake as he looks back up at it in horror, and zod is intently on him punching him.

they fight in the street tearing up a bit of the concrete and damaging some cars.

zod sends superman flying with a punch to lightly crash towards the top of a sky scraper ZOD'S FAULT

zod begins leaping up across the building creating damage as he goes ZOD'S FAULT

superman & zod collide midway along the side of the building causing a good size dent BOTH AT FAULT

superman lets loose punching zod far across the sky above the city, clearly trying to get him out away from the buildings, they are approaching the outskirts when zod swerves and hides back among the buildings.

where he burst thru a building to surprise tackle superman. ZOD'S FAULT

zod then takes the fight into space and destroys a satellite ZOD'S FAULT

zod sends the 2 of them rocketing back to earth, punching superman in the face as they go.

at the very last second superman turns the tables on zod making him go head first into the ground when they crash into the train station. MOSTLY ZOD'S FAULT, superman took advantage of zod's action.

THATS IT!!! only 11 to 13 max buildings are damaged in the fight itselt, only 1 building actually fully fell, the one zod cut in half.

superman is only responsible for 3 points of damage with intent, the scout ship crashing, the steel bars at the construction site, and the side of the building he dragged zod's face thru, everything else was a accident or more zod's fault than his.

AND he tried to take zod out of the city when he let loose punching his across the sky

AND he was clearly holding back when you compare the power of his punches in the sky to the punches he hit zod with in close quarters in the street.

SUPERMAN DID NOT DESTROY THE CITY, PERIOD, THE FIGHT ON THE WHOLE DID NOT DESTROY THE CITY FOR GODS SAKE!

next time someone makes such a outlandish claim, link this page to them. please. these lies to make the film seem worse than it is must end.

The city looks like a wasteland to me

man, there is so much more power and destruction in this movie than in the avengers movie...its crazy

Superman still should've led the fight out of the city, like into a wasteland or Rocky Areas or something.

no the punches where literally sending him flying farther out, OUT OF THE CITY, like you wished he would do, then zod turned and flew back into it.

and unless we see any actual damage caused by thoose airal punches then it did not happen.

Movie was awesome IMO

I though it was clear to anybody who isn't a hater that only a very small portion of the city was leveled. I believe Snyder even said the destruction was contained to around a 2-3 mile area.

Easier said then done. Especially when the person you are grappling is a trained soldier, he coudl have easily just flown back to the city in minutes.


Im perfectly fine with the damage. I expect it when two kryptonians are going at it. It's not like he did it all on purpose.

The makers of the film wanted it destroyed for a reason. For eye candy or for setting up a part of the plot in the sequel, we will see.

Well supes did destroy the city but a rookie superhero shouldn't be at fault it was a combined effort and if he didnt finish zod the whole world would be ended only thing to mention is why didnt he sjust manhandle zod seeing as he was alot syronger and faster than him and drag him out the city but i guess he has time to learn plus someone should do one about batmans."no killing rule in his films" because in them car chases flattening police cars with a tank is 90% to kill the ppl inside

Super being on Earth caused Zod to invade it. Therefore by indirect cause, Superman destroyed the city.
