I didn't really give up on DC. I am just not happy with 52.

I want them to return to the real DC universe.

I tried to read tons of different DC stuff, trying to get into some titles from DC. I just couldn't thought, nothing made me want to keep reading. I have nothing against DC, I'm not a marvel only type fan boy, I just don't happen to like anything by DC really. DC is just too fantasy for me, I feel absolutely no connection to the characters, so it feels like a chore to read. I can see why people like DC, I'm not knocking it, I'm just saying for its not for me.

I'm not happy with some changes in the New 52, and I'm not thrilled about how the staff treats its writers, but the majority of the stories I'm reading are great and I'm not about to give up on DC just because of a few continuity problems or because I wanna take the ''moral high ground'' with their staffing problems.

#13 Edited by batpala (339 posts) - - Show Bio

Lets see, all my favourite characters were written out, gotten rid of or replaced, the creators are treated like they aren't worth anything and Didio or w/e his name with has a severe personal grudge against legacy characters and it makes me angry because just because he doesn't like them doesn't mean the rest of their readers don't. Not to mention the horror track history they have with fridging women, using women for publicity stunts [cough hooking Wonder Woman up with Superman], using rape for shock so they gain more readers or whatever. This is why I illegally download all my comics now. :|

I can't leave DC when they have Batman '66.

I haven't given up on DC and I probably never will.

#16 Posted by Cooldes (4208 posts) - - Show Bio

all the chars are the same.

and they're all OP

(save arm-fall-off-boy)

#17 Posted by spinningbirdcake (1432 posts) - - Show Bio

Yeah I voted nope. I like the old universe plenty, but the stories are still there, and there's dozens upon dozens of them that I haven't read or don't remember so it's not like that world is dead to me. I don't mind the New 52 at all. Some characters I lost interest in but other I gained interest in. It all evens out at the end of the day I think.

#18 Posted by Squalleon (5780 posts) - - Show Bio

For you who used the "other" option could you explain what you meant?

They hate DC so much they're stealing comics out of spite.

Like many others have said, I haven't given up on DC but I don't particularly prefer the DCnU to the DCU. There are still some great stories being told that I really enjoy but ultimately I think DC is trying to change their stuff up too much just because they can. For example: The Question.

The Creeper also comes to mind. It's like they have some grudge against Ditko

I didn't give up on DC somewhat. I did drop Stormwatch and Green Arrow, but I also had Hawkman, Deathstroke, and Demon Knights cancelled on me. I'm still reading Earth 2 and The Flash.

DC is what started me, why would I give it up?

#24 Edited by THEOCITYLEGEND (1371 posts) - - Show Bio

I could never ditch DC Comics. DC has Batman, you can never ditch Batman.

#25 Edited by OrphanCrippler (210 posts) - - Show Bio

i tried to get into it, but most titles bored me to death. Finally found an awesome one in Red Lanterns, but when i heard that some mean person defeated Atrocitus and took his Place as their leader i gave up on DC for good

#26 Posted by Strider92 (17905 posts) - - Show Bio

@orphancrippler: I know you probably didn't mean to use that word in a derogatory way but you may want to edit that out of your post as the mod's don't take kindly to the use of said word regardless of the circumstances :S

i am close on giving up. they just dont have anything for me anymore. all is dark, all is dead.

#28 Posted by OrphanCrippler (210 posts) - - Show Bio

@strider92: thanks man, thought the little star would be enough.

#30 Posted by Strider92 (17905 posts) - - Show Bio

So, I'm actually glad it happened.

I have dropped pretty much every New 52 book I was reading but I'll still buy Li'l Gotham and some other digitals.

Yup. Let's hear it for complete universe re-boots!

We New 52 fans must unite!

A little of both. I have renewed interest now that Forever Evil has hit. Some changes have been tough to swallow (The Rogues), some have been downright unsalvageable (Cyborg Superman, Bronze Tiger, Count Vertigo), and a select few have been hits. I'm keeping an open mind for the most part and am just happy to still be seeing some of my favorites in the mix, even though a few have been left out.

I'm close to giving up on DC. I will stay with Wonder Woman, but drop Batwoman after issue 26, already dropped Justice League, Green Lantern after Johns' last issue and Batman after Death of the Family. I'm not sure, if I will keep Flash & Green Arrow. For now I can't part with DC completely, not while their Wonder Woman is still good.

I might convert mostly to IDW, though, and give Marvel another chance.

I haven't given up. But Lobo and Creeper have p!ssed me off greatly.

#47 Edited by Kraya (203 posts) - - Show Bio

@sinestro_gl: I know. The artwork alone is phenomenal. I just have very strong DC-depression over the whole Batwoman thing and it makes me consider dropping everything but Wonder Woman. Plus, I have never been a Flash fan before. I just like Barry's (and Wally's) character (+ the book's art) and I have not delved into Green Arrow enough to really miss it. I haven't decided anything yet, though.

#48 Posted by Arkhamc1tizen (2201 posts) - - Show Bio

I haven't.

#49 Posted by Skyfire (765 posts) - - Show Bio

I only started reading DC when the new 52 started and was loving it at first, but the more I read of the old universe the more I'm convinced it was a bad idea.

#50 Edited by Eternal19 (2151 posts) - - Show Bio

I've given up on DC creating a legit movie universe that doesn't revolve around batman, but comic wise I'm ok with DC right now
