@king1_icon: Not behind in everything. DC is ahead on the small screen and I also believe that they out sell Marvel in TPB.
Once again DC trys to copy marvel.
thread is uhhh
anyway I would like Icon but as I always say if your not gonna have fun if you want a character mainly featured that isn't white. is it right no but complaining won't get you heard but laughed at. just enjoy that you have comics.
anyway they both not used Val is more Sentry then BM. they both have mental problems and in their world the strongest person alive.
@beaconofstrength Lizard came out first.
@yung_ancient_one oh please, which character you prefer doesn't matter, it's if they copied one another or not. And Tony Stark is like Bruce Wayne, billionare playboy who uses his company's material to become a superhero.
That's like saying Supergirl and Robin are the same because both are sidekicks to a hero they idolize.
Stark is an actual playboy billionaire. Wayne pretends to be a playboy for the sake of not getting caught. Stark built his first suit by himself. Wayne has been training for years to be the best at everything. There are two complete opposites. People getting hung up on the fact that both are rich and use their business material for their own benefit then Doom is like Batman because he's rich and uses his industries to create his materials for his benefits but... whatever.
Fail Marvel copies dc way more then vice versa (YES but... no)
Green Arrow- Hawkeye (Robin Hood was 1st. 2nd, Hawkeye had more of a personality than Arrow did but yes Marvel copied here.)
Brainiac - Ultron (How? One is a advanced robotic alien out to collect all information. The other is a robot who wants to destroy mankind. It be like comparing Robocop and Cyborg because both are cyborgs.)
Starro - Shuma-Gorath (What? Because both have a giant eye and a uber powerful... really?)
Darkseid - Thanos
Plastic Man - Reed Richards (He's more of a Elongated Man copy tHAN Plastic Man. Plus, I find it odd how having similar powers automatically means they are a copy.)
Flash - Quicksilver (Quicksilver is more of a watered down speedster. They are actually nothing alike besides the fact that both are speedsters.)
Superman - Hyperion,Sentry and Gladiator (Technically everyone including Superman are copies of Captain Marvel)
Deadshot-Bullseye (How? Bullseye has a innate talent to never miss. He uses silver wear, cards, needles, or whatever. Deadshot is another glorified generic mercenary.)
Doom Patrol-X-Men (most people don't even know about this but Doom Patrol came first) (Yes but like all of Marvel's DC inspired creations they evolved into something far more superior than the original. Hey, at least DC copied Namor and evolved Aquaman into something Namor wasn't or so I hear)
The Avengers-Justice League
Young Avengers-Teen Titans/Young Justice
Thunderbolts-Suicide Squad
The Owl/Kingpin-The Penguin (I can see Owl even if I think it's a reach but... Kingpin... Really? Being a Boss of a criminal organization automatically means Penguin? Really?)
Black Cat-Catwoman
Bucky Barnes-Robin/Dick Grayson (HA! That's like calling every sidekick a Grayson copycat. Not to mention that Barnes took on the CA mantle way before Grayson even thought about taking on Bats mantle.)
Winter Soldier-Red Hood (Seriously? Red Hood is like Punisher if anything. WInter Soldier was around WAY before Jason Todd's Red Hood.)
Sandman-Clayface
Doctor Strange-Doctor Fate
Ant-Man-The Atom
Moon Knight/Black Panther-Batman (Again this whole idea if they have the same powers or moves then they're a copy cat is odd to me. Both MK and BP are completely different than BAts besides being cape crusaders.
Vision-Martian Manhunter (One is a robot. One is a alien. One reads minds. The other can connect to a computer. Yup. EXACTLY THE SAME)
Venom-Parasite (They don't even have the same powers. What are you talking about?)
Norman Osborne-Lex Luthor (How? How? Seriously, I can see some of them even if they are a clear reach but this one... How?)
Elektra-Lady Shiva (Oh Sweet Baby Jesus. Really? Because they are both ninjas. That's it?)
Carol Danvers-Powergirl/Supergirl/Wonder Woman (I'm seeing a trend here. You are obviously reaching.)
Angel-Hawkman
Star-Lord-Adam Strange (SMH*)
Hulk-Solomon Grundy (More like the other way around but... whatever)
Mockingbird-Black Canary (There not even.... *sigh*)
Civil War-Kingdom Come/Identity Crisis (NOPE. Nope. nope. Totally. I mean... Its... *sigh*. The face palm is not enough)
Old Man Logan-The Dark Knight Returns
Marvel NOW-The New 52 (Yes but No. Nu52 is a reboot. Marvel NOW! is a marketing campaign. However, I will admit they came up with the marketing campaign due to DC's reboot. Marvel was smart enough to not reboot their franchises)
but... whatever. (+)
Legendary :}
is it possible to ban someone from CV by popular vote?
i bet we could get the votes.
I find him kinda entertaining in a sort of laughing at the mentally challenged person falling off a bike sort of way, even though you know it's wrong you can't help it. I would love to see him with a Youtube channel. The hilarious thing is he has admitted he has only been into comics for about 5-6 months and he is this race angry already.
@thecowwasdelirious: Actually, even though Cat Woman came first, Black Cat first adopted her playful cat-like personality. Cat Woman then copied the personality from Black Cat.
As far as Batman and GA are concerned,
What about The Arrow or The Black Bat? Do they count?
I have already stated that YES they are based on pulp icons.

So many inaccuracies here,Dick Grayson took the Batman mantle for the first time back in the mid 90's,Winter Soldier wasn't even thought of then,Todd as Red Hood debuted around the same time as TWS,waaaaaaaaay too close for either to be ripoff.
Grundy predates Hulk actually.
Deadshot has much more depth than Bullseye and Slade walks all over that over used joke called Deadpool.
@symbioticspider-man Personality doesn't play that big of a part in this debate.
Realized that it just turned into another Marvel vs DC topic so I'd rather not get into it. So enjoy!
@king1_icon: whose blue marvel based off of....
I'm deeply saddened and appalled by how blind all of you are. Clearly you are not seeing the subliminal messages present in these two characters. Both are powerful men of color who wear WHITE capes. The cape symbolizes the racist infrastructure perpetuated by the white man to hold a strong black man down!....................Or they could be two comic characters who just happen to wear white capes cuz it look cool with the color scheme of their costumes lol :P

I. Grayson took the mantle in the 90's? What? When? What was the story?
II. I know Grundy predates Hulk but Grundy acts like Hulk. Grundy never acted like Hulk until Hulk showed up. The same way Deathstroke wasn't getting pushed as much as he has been in recent years or currently because his parody was becoming more popular. Or, the same way Green Arrow started to have a charismatic personality after Hawkeye came out.
Plus, Grundy is a zombie-ish unstompable character. Hulk is a human who gets angry and becomes a powerful entity. Both are still different but yeah you can have that if you want.
III. My point is Bullseye is nothing like Deadshot and not who has more depth but whatever.
IV. Slade doesn't walk all over his parody. His parody, Deadpool, is way more popular than Slade. Plus, he is honestly a better character but you can think Slade walks all over Wade if you want. You are completely entitled to be wrong. Slade is a generic unbeatable assassin (that gets beat a lot somehow). He's a dime a dozen. Deadpool is unique. (+)
@king1_icon: Why don't you just read the comics you enjoy?
But do have to ask whats wrong with john Stewart? I personally like Cyborg. Static is also quite a good hero.
But seriously why does the color, sex or religion of any character even matter? Can't anyone enjoy comics anymore instead of putting out an agenda of some kind.
Oh let's recount Marvel's many DC copyctats, shall we?
The Lizard - Killer Croc Lizard came first.
Hawkeye - Green Arrow - Robin Hood
Deadpool - Deathstroke - Taskmaster
Thanos - Darkseid
Iron Man - Batman - Zoro and some other characters (I can't remember their names, atm)
Black cat - Catwoman
Quicksilver - The Flash
Fix'd
;)
Both Taskmaster and Deathstroke had their debut in 1980 almost at the same exact time... It's not like any of them were around long enough to have an influence on each other in terms of who ripped off who.
Deadpool ripped off Deathstroke but Slade was created at the same exact time as TM so there is at best a couple months difference between them. Not sure who has the advantage in terms of months but I am guessing Deathstroke because TM made his first FULL debut in August 1980 while the first volume of the New Teen Titans were almost finished by November of 1980.
So yeah, Deathstroke did not rip off Taskmaster...
@claymore1998: they're both ripping off each other.
@life_without_progress: that always happens. Everybody rips off their competitors. It's the way it always works ^_^
@claymore1998: that's what we both said ... ?
hey marvel copied legion of superheoroes also as guardians of the galaxy
Which iteration? the -69 or -08 version?
@digitalshooter9: They have a 7 and a half month difference; Taskmaster first appeared in May of 1980, while Deathstroke fist appeared in December of 1980. They were both co-created by the same person, they have nearly the exact same color palette, shared some of the same outfit, and they both showed up as team-busters to their respective teams. So, I'd Deathstroke was definitely inspired by Taskmaster.
its been established anything that dc does from now on is a marvel ripoff
Praise it.
Seriously though,
"Marvel treats its black and other minority with care and actually puts effort into them. This is how we can have a book were the majority of the team is black and that book actually does good."
Is he insinuating that DC doesn't take time to develop their minority characters? I strongly disagree with that.
Thats how I felt.
