Its more than likely a teaser for a new game coming out.
Why would a trailer like this be the first thing seen and heard of of a new MK movie?

Nah, if it was a movie we'd know it. Now I'm all disapointed, that would have been an awesome movie.

BTW, there is Sub-Zero at 7:12! :) and also there are rumors of Noob Saibot at the wall in the beginning (i've read them at the official YouTube page of this movie), that's not true: it's just some kind of a print of Johnny Cage's movie.
 
p.s. it's not a trailer for a real upcoming movie, nor for the game. It's just what some guys done and send to WB to make a decision of a movie, so we have a chance.

Ittis not for a game i saw a trailer for the new game and it didn't look like this. Not even close. The game trailer is cool too. Look at the fatality at the end of the trailer.
