It seems like people just say Rob Liefeld because they think they should, but have probably never seen any of his work. I'm not saying everyone, but that's what it seems like. I personally think he's a great artist, and people just say they hate him as part of a fad.

He's average at his best IMO. Usually I really just can't stand his style, it's ugly to look at, hard to tell what's going on, and usually has this strange mix of bad highlighting and lack of detail that annoys me.
Maybe some people say they dislike his art because they wanna sound cool, but plenty of people have very real gripes with his art.
One you used to hate, but have come to love - Lee Bermejo --- didn't hate him exactly, but I wasn't too taken with his art the first time I saw it. Now I think he's one of the best in the industry at the moment.

Having sampled most of his art, I personally think he draws like a toddler who's sniffed too much glue, and that the people who maintain that he's a misunderstood genius should probably lay off the sauce.

honestly i figured i'd see a lot of Land and Liefeld hate no matter what, then probably Ramos and Romita jr, personally i'm not afan of Ramos but quite a few people really seem to just plain hate his stuff.

One you used to hate, but have come to love - Frank Miller. I remember dissing on Batman Year One. Now, it's among my fav. Maybe his writing helps but I really like his art now.

Pffft he's a good artist for covers/posters/designs but he's not that good for sequential arts.

He can make it work sometimes. It really worked for Marvels and Kingdom Come, and it was okay in Justice(I admit it could have been better). Masks also looks alright.
He's not the best for fights but he's great with expressions and really big epic moments.
