My parents actually support it. On my last birthday they gave me money and told me I better spend at least half of it on comics. You just have to let your dad know it's something you really enjoy.
Yeah mine do too, mainly due to the fact that until a year or two my comic book reading was basically exclusively manga, so when I started reading more American stuff they were really glad that I was supporting the industry here.
