There are movies I just love. No matter how many times I've seen them I can sit down and watch them again. Maybe you love and identify with the leading character. Maybe the movie makes you cry, it touches you deeply. Maybe it just transports you to a better place. I'm sure I'm not the only one. So lets name movies that you just love and tell why. Keep it simple guys :)

I'll start:

1. The Hitcher: I just love road movies and this one is full of goodies. Great performances. Great bad guy. And just ahead of its time.

2. Unforgiven: my favorite western. I love westerns and this one is just perfect. And it's kind of a road movie too. I love the open fields and what an ending!

3. MOS: ok that's my comic book movie mention. This is the Superman movie I waited for my whole life. It's Superman looking like the super god he is. Nuff said.

Star Wars - effing Star Wars.

The Sting - great old-ish movie, I really enjoyed all the thought that went into the con-artists' work.

The Wind that Shakes the Barley - great war film, and one of my first exposures to the Irish revolution and civil war, which I find kind of shameful.

Man of Steel - I loved it. Great interpretation of Clark's early days.

The Party - Peter Sellers comedy at its best.

12 Angry Men - boatload of just plain thinking that goes into this, and dips into problems with people.

Raiders of the Lost Ark - Great action, lots of adventure, good music and a good plot.

The Princess Bride - lots of comedy, action, good quotes.

Lilo and Stitch - childhood.

Tarzan - childhood.

Mulan - childhood.

I'm the only one who will say Gone In 60 Seconds. That film never gets old. Talking about the remake.

@mitran: Lilo and Stitch... Wow you know how many times my 5 year old made me watch it? Good one.

Thanks! Yeah, it came out right when I was done being a "kid," but I don't care. It's part of my childhood, and will never get old.

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. I've seen it 100+ times. It's hilarious, action packed, clever, and it moves at a very quick pace.

Ok some more:

1. Scent of a Woman: just excellent all around... acting, story, dialogue and I've seen it like a dozen times throughout the years.

2. The Godfather: that is all

3. Cujo: something about a giant, rabid dog in the late seventies setting.

It happens every year. The first hint of cool fall air blows by and I have to re-watch my trilogies - LOTR, Matrix, Bourne. No idea how many times I've watched these 9 movies, but I'm starting to watch them again right now.

@monsterstomp:

Glad to see some love for the original Karate Kid movie. One of my all time faves too.

#46 Posted by MonsterStomp (21433 posts) - - Show Bio

@blackdog2009: No doubt man. I like the setting and the choreography is more realistic. Karate Kid (2010) was enjoyable, mostly due to the fact that he was fighting like a ninja, but the original film was more believable.

@blackdog2009: You should definitely watch 'The Searchers' if you indeed like Westerns. For me, it is not only the best western film ever made, but amongst the finest films ever produced!

#48 Posted by AngstromLevy (38 posts) - - Show Bio

Pulp Fiction - Quentin Tarantino makes good movies. That's all there is to it. Pulp Fiction is just fun to watch, you know?

Kill Bill Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 - More Tarantino. This time a little different. Again, these movies are just fun to watch.

Into The Wild - I actually saw this movie for the first time yesterday and I fell in love with it. It is beautiful. The story is amazing, the directing is top notch, and it is one of those movies that really gets you thinking. I definitely recommend it to everyone.
