- This thread is design for Superman movie fans to debate why Superman can defeat the Avengers by himself.
Movie thread: Superman solos the Avengers
@allstarsuperman: did you forget superman 4?
Comes down to Thor. Thor vs Superman is an endless debate. Both sids can cherry-pick scans to make their guy look great, and the other guy look bad. But assuming the Avengers consist of Cap, Iron Man, Hulk, etc...Superman, IMHO, can solo those guys.
If we're only taking movie versions than I don't see much of a point of this. Anyone who's seen both films could easily tell Supes outclasses the Avengers in the powers department.
@decoy_elite: This goes for any movie the Avengers were in
(Ironman 1-3, Thor 1-2, Hulk, Incredible Hulk, Captain America)
@the_stegman: Man of Steel
- To make this a fair debate, Superman has no resistance to magical attacks.

Don't remember them showing off anything that really looking even close to dangerous for Superman as he appeared in Man of Steel.

That....that could change things.
Well, if it's Man Of Steel, I don't know, I won't see the movie til later today. However, going by trailers alone, he looks to fight pretty fast, he'll easily take out Iron Man, BW, Hawkeye and Cap. Thor and Hulk are the only problems, And if Zod does indeed have the same powers as Superman (and I'm assuming Supes beats him in Mos) then I don't see Thor or Hulk taking Supes down.
His combination of speed and strength should be too much for them.
Then there's the heat vision, too. Yes, he needs a moment to recover immediately after, but it's still a factor.
Then again, we never saw how he holds up to electrical attacks. If Thor eventually produces the same level of power as seen at the wormhole, it could prove interesting.
I would think that Scarlet Witch and Thor together can overwhelm Superman. Iron Man could give him a big problem.
Oh, we are talking about the movie versions?
Superman would have trouble with Thor and Hulk, with Iron Man giving some aerial support, but I don't see Captain America, Hawkeye or Black Widow giving Superman any trouble, though Steve could give the team some tactical advice. If Iron Man figures out the weakness, Hawkeye and Black Widow could retrieve some kryptonite and return to the battlefield to take him down.

In the film he has to recover from using it ?
i hope not, since in comics he can use hv just fine.
@toptom: It make sense when you by into Superman's
"Heat Vision drains his solar radiation reserves the fastess"
- Basically Superman weakness himself when he uses heat vision.

Unless he uses something similar as a conductor, that level of lightning attack wouldn't make sense.
Movie Supes takes them all down easy. Nothing in the Avengers movie showed a threat to any of the lesser Kryptonians let alone Clark. He resisted the gravity of a worm hole singularity, overcame his weakness to Kryptonian environments and flew through a massive gravity beam that was altering the composition of the entire earth. He routinely speed blitzed, and he accidentally destroyed the top of a mountain while trying to learn how to fly. Although some of his powers (such as super breath) were not shown, and his best strength feat was holding up the top half of an oil tanker. Although he struggled with that feat, he did not cave in, although the oil tanker did. However, this was back before he could fly and he was just learning his powers. In short, Thor or Hulk might not even be able to damage Supes as he showed far greater durability and speed then they did. Hell, the lesser Kryptonians could tear the Avengers apart without trying.
Also, Superman overcame every weakness he had in the movie, and neither Kryptonite nor magic were shown.

this and why are people saying that iron man can deduce his weakness and get some kryptonite, when kryptonite was not even shown in MOS. And even if it did exist i think the point of this thread is to compare how the movie versions of the characters stack up against each other. Bringing kryptonite into the mix defeats the whole purpose of the thread
