The Justice League. A group supposedly made up of the strongest heroes on Earth and yet they always lose until the final issue of the arc.

That's called the plot/writing formula. It's the case for everyone and every team. If anyone won their battles right off the bat, it wouldn't be much of a story, or at least interesting story, now would it?

As for my answer, the X-Men.

This is true. But it just seems to happen more with the JLA than the Avengers, Titans, X-Men, etc.

AGREEING WITH REACTOR, THE X-MEN IS DEF ONE OF THE MOST OVERRATED TEAMS OUT THERE.  AND GIVIN THE MOST OVERRATED CHARACTERS AS WELL.  Wolverine, Gambit, and Deadpool are the three that come imediatly to my mind.

@King Saturn:

I was just thinking that...I used to love the early 90's run...everything else has been a random mix of people coming and going the name being one of the few constants.

I think a very underrated team is the JSA...I love them more and more as I read them.

Deadpool isn't with the X-Men and Gambit hardly counts anymore as part of the roster.

Naw X-Men is cold. Though Wolverine is kinda overrated.

Avengers.  They don't even impress me as much as the X-Men, and their the premier heroes? I mean lets be honest. If the factors were put aside, and you took your average Avengers roster, vs ur average X-Men. They'd outlast or beat them.   Dn't much love the Fantastic 4 either, but they suck much less. Most of the Avenger's are better in their own books.

Fan4, totally over rated
The stories were only really great in the 60s and the modern movies sucked
Reed IMO is a d'ck and responsible for half the crap that went on in Civil War. Yet the writers loved Reed, ignored his whole cracking the Clor DNA and they lobotomized Ironman and made Tony the punchbag for Marvelverse. Thor should have also beat down Reed
Credit must be given to Reed as a science guy is damn smart, maybe the smartest, but without his team mates buying him time in battles and acting as a distraction the guy is nothing

I also find Reed a little arrogrant and obnoxious
Sue is the brick of the team but I don't like her story, she's way too dependent and needs a divorce

I would love to see a story where Franklin is not actually Reed's but the kid's Daddy is fishface, happened one night when Sue left Reed

If it was Avengers vs X-Men, Wolverine would be on both sides.

Cut to huge battlefield where X-Men and Avengers are fighting.
Wolverine uses Colossus to do the fastball special and stab Iron Man, then jumps back at Colossus and brutally impales him. Everyone looks around.

Cyclops: Logan! WTF?!
Wolverine: I'm on the Avengers too, boyscout.
Wolverine stabs Ant-Man when he returns to normal size.
Wasp: Holy $#!+! Logan, why'd you do that?!
Wolverine: I was an X-Man first.
Cyclops: HA! He only hit one of us and two of you!
Wolverine: Sorry. Stabs Nightcrawler.
Cyclops: Wolverine! STOP!

anyone but the X-Men. sorry, its a little hard to call a team over rated that has not only
the most powerful characters on their planet, but 100+ members.
seriously what are Iron Man, either Cap, or Hawkeye even going to so much
as do to Proffesor X?

He is, in Extremis.

His handbook entry states it, even though I don't think there are examples of him doing it, on panel (but I've only read his appearances in Mighty Avengers scarcely, so he may have done it there).

Iron Man is immune to Charles Xaviers level of telepathy, even from the astral plane?

@Morpheus_: Wasn't there a little bit with Emma during Civil War when he visited the X-Mansion without his suit? I thought something was mentioned in that conversation, not sure though.

While I remember that scene, I don't think he stated he was immune to her telepathic abilities. But I will double check.

@Precise: cant see how it matters. she didnt try to mindrape him, and Emma is not on Charles level, especially after his rebirth and upgrade. Charles put out Exodus and the Marauders without them actually knowing it, Exodus being a high level telepath.
Xavier also snuffed Kulan Gath, and interfaced with Galactus's mind forcefully while sending an entire race of Skrulls minds into his head.
any protection Iron Man may even have, is not that high to win a tug of war with Charles.

The greatest problem with the whole thing is that Iron Man never exhibited/tested the ability on panel for us to know exactly what level of resistance he has, and the Handbook cannot be a definite, or absolute source for such a matter.

@Precise:

I re-read it, and there is no mention of him having telepathic resistance during their exchange.

@Son_of_Magnus:
if your talking about the current incarnation of X-Force, i think i have to fully agree.
granted i like that book but thats not a very tough team in the overall. id say Archangel
is their toughest member followed by Warpath. though the two Wolverines are good for
some things but not against heavy hitters. and Wolfsbane, Elixer and Vanisher...yeah.
plus they have barely  any resistances.  1 heavy hitter should be able to curb this team.
good choice.

Has to be the Justice League. Simply, they put all of the top guns on one team and then they always seem to not be enough even though if the same thing happened in their solo titles, they would figure it out. I think it would be better if the Justice League didn't have the big guys but really were the B-Characters because they would really have to work together. I also never really felt they were really a "team", more of a team up. You see other teams either have strategies or practice and relate to one another better.

If Marvel had put all their top characters in one team and they acted the same way I would feel the same.

No need to get angry, merely asking a question because I wasn't sure if he had telepathic resistances.
