@jaken7: Ask OP. LOL just put my favorite anime plots and anime with my favorite character who had good characterization.
I...don't understand the question.
Umm basically what anime did you personally really like plot wise or character wise or concept wise or all of the above. Just choose any anime that you like that falls into those categories.
Death Note. To me, Light Yagami is one of the most interesting characters around. We see the anime through his eyes, thus, we root for him, we want him to win, he's a despicable person, a sociopath with a god complex, manipulative, sinister and cruel..yet, he is still both the antagonist and protagonist. It would be the equivalent of having a Batman comic, only seeing it through the Joker's viewpoint. It's my favorite anime for this reason, and Light is my favorite anime character.
@jedixman: You're too cool to be like Ledouche
Inspired by a DBZ plot? Looooool
Right? I know, I know, it's all opinions, but what is it that inspires about DBZ's plot? This time I'm genuinely asking.
@blackwind: I could inspire you to leave your family friends to train some kid you just met on the slight chance he won't go crazy. Or just leave them whenever you feel like it
NEON GENESIS EVANGELION
its a inspiration and a warning, it inspires one to move beyond our past (asuka & misato personal losses), our grudges (shinji towards his father gendo), our own limitations (rei and her lack of emotions and will), or else be consumed by them, to find hope in the darkness, hope that there is a friend out there when all have abandoned you (kaworu to shinji in 3.0), when all is lost, the possibility of a new beginning (after instrumentality?), that there is a guardian angel looking out for you (yui in eva 01, ready to continue the fight when shinji can no longer proceed), knowing that being yourself and being alive is better than being no one at all or being dead.
Naruto.
Naruto himself was the biggest failure and outcast in his whole hometown, but despite all that, he didn't let all the hatred from his fellow countrymen to dissuade him from following his dreams. When he beat Gaara after Sasuke couldn't, when he beat Neji, and again with Pain, he taught viewers never to underestimate anyone, and if you were the underdog, just keep trying.
That was the best thing about Naruto, not the fights, or the crazy ocular powers or animals living inside their bodies.
One Piece - it is the most inspiring show i have ever watched. It taught me that no matter what the people or even the world thought of you if you believed in your self and your friends you could do anything. It also taught me that you can accomplish anything with a dream, hard work, and a group of friends
Naruto was a badass rebel back in the day, doing what he could to achieve his dreams (too bad he was also fixated on the lamest people in the manga, Sakura and Sasuke)
@farkam: You never forget your first kiss.
@farkam: You never forget your first kiss.
What kills me is that he actually refers to that as his first kiss.
One Piece for the grandest plot of all the anime I've seen. Although it also has the most interesting main cast, Rurouni Kenshin (Samurai X) really inspired me character wise.
@matteopg: I think its near factual that Toriyama is a sub par story teller.
That is what I (and a lot of people whose opinion I value) can't help but thinking, and still somebody says that DBZ "inspired" them. How? To do what? How did it influence the way you think about the world and your actions?
I mean, that's what "inspire" means.
A show that's running theme is never fall back, never give up even if its impossible.
TENGEN TOPPA GURREN LAGANN!!!!
I'd have to say Gintama is my favorite overall. The humor wad awesome and the serious arcs were inspiring.
Don't like anime usually, since it usually fails to grasp subtlety or pacing. But Legends of Korra changed my mind. The season finale is start to finish one of the best stories I've watched on television.
DBZ Vegeeta versus Buu made me want to scream because for a moment, just a moment, there was such nuanced emotion delivered perfectly. Then in typical DBZ fashion they wasted twenty episodes trying to tie it up. DBZ is filled with such raw potential. If someone would just force them to cut the stories in half. Pacing gentlemen, pacing.
